The M135i seems a relative bargain of a car when you consider how much money you're having to add to move to stuff that's not all that much newer or better. Totally get wanting a change though when you've been driving something for 8 years.

What are you actually charging? Does it draw 1A? Maybe the draw is much lower and the power bank is shutting off because it thinks there's no draw - some have a 'low power' mode to get round this

If anything, that makes it worse, in that most insurers would probably expect you to take out Business usage for that sort of usage. I think you'd need a very creative solicitor to argue your way out of this on the basis that despite going to work, your travel wasn't commuting or business usage...

I have a little sympathy, having had brokers in the past send me documents that said SD&P then try to tell me verbally that commuting was covered and it didn't matter that the paperwork didn't say it :rolleyes:

All the talk about spares or repairs is just confusing the issue and I don't think is relevant in the slightest. You advertised a running car, he bought it (as a private sale) as a running car, he drove away in his running car. If it broke later, tough titties, that's the deal with private...
