Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

Multiple layers of fishnets would be closer to the original material in some ways. The original Lian-Li material has much wider gaps in it than normal filter material. The mesh in low denier stockings would be too fine and I expect would clog up a little quick. There would be a bit of an art...

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

How old are you? If your GF smells of scampi I'd be more worried about her than the tights. Anyway, that's why you stick with Stockings. Maybe it is time to put your joystick down and get out of the house more :D

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

I'll try again. Guess the Google search ended up in Ireland. Now I have walked through their UK front door I see its £2.26 in real money without any postage. So we are back to undercutting the stockings. :D Thanks. Just have to hope those 140mm filters hang on a bit longer as CPC can't...

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

I assume there is a minimum purchase on the shipping as they wanted €6 for a €3 item. Adding tax that takes it to €10. I'm keeping them on the list, and having the reference number is useful as I'll going to scour a few local DIY and Building Supplies store around here. Ideally I want to...

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

Nice one Caged. They come out at a more sensible price. Just need to find somewhere with sane postage costs. I'm surprised OCUK don't have these in stock.

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

Doh! I should have thought of that one. I'll stick on a pair of high heels and nip into town. Well, I live in Brighton so no one would think it odd. Either that or I'll nick a pair from the GF :D Still would be curious if the "RealThing" was available somewhere. I'm going to have a look in...

Lian Li Filter Material - replacing it

I have my old tried and trusted Lian Li case. Gave it a clean out yesterday of far too many years of dust and muck. Trouble is, the filter material in the 120mm front case fan just fell apart in my hands. What do you guys use as a replacement? I see that OCUK sell the whole grill...

Malaysian Grand Prix 2014, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

So does anyone have a clue as to why the delay on the iPlayer? By the time the Qualy is available the race itself will have been run. Is there some daft copyright deal going on here causing the delay like with he Football? Or is this a plan by the Beeb to just annoy all the F1 watchers?

    4pin CPU fan on a 3pin controller?

I have modification tools - dremel, chisel, large hammer, chainsaw - just wanted to check there is nothing iffy about combing an old fan controller with newer tech. The noise with this fan running at full speed is like a jet engine on full reheat. Just seen your linkies in your sig. Nice...

    4pin CPU fan on a 3pin controller?

I have a motherboard that seems to have failed on the pin that controls the CPU fan. Just runs flat out. BIOS reports fan RPM as 0 RPM. Same happens with different fans or using the SYS fan header. So... any problems if I just whack the 4-pin CPU fan onto a 3-pin fan controller? Like one...

Connecting TV to PC via WiFi

Lack of network socket near the TV? Then buy some HomePlugs to do the job. Runs Ethernet across your household mains wiring. I use the Devolo ones and have had good success with my clients.

Connecting TV to PC via WiFi

Do you have a BluRay player for the TV? Maybe time to buy a new one... A cheap way to add a DLNA client to a TV is to buy a Smart BluRay player. You can then connect this to your network via Ethernet or WiFi depending what is available near the TV. I have a Panasonic BluRay and that will...

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

To be fair to that seller, there are some truly horrendous power supplies out there. Not just for lights. Testing of PSUs is down to the supplier... which means the dodgy ones just print the CE stickers and whack them on any old tat. Just look at the PC PSU market when lumps of concrete show...

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

Don't you just turn the lights off when you watch a film? I know I do. But then I ain't all fancy tuned up and high tech. I just love my TX-P50ST50B as it is. Cinema mode (Or Game mode for the PC) is pretty darn fine quality without the extra spend on tweaking. I totally understand...

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

You can also read "End of R&D" as meaning "Well, we worked out all the clever tricks we can and it all works as good as we can get it." I am certainly happy with my year old TX-P50ST50B. The image is still blowing me away. It makes me cringe seeing the price drops on this screen... what a...

Power Supply - Please Help! (Quick Question)

Yes - almost. You will have those two main cables to the motherboard. You may have a cable to your graphics card. (Only if graphics card is posh and expensive). You will have cables to your hard disk and DVD writer. Main key - count the number of cables you unplug, and make sure you...

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

I get a feeling it was just bunged in as a bit of an afterthought. More of an emergency fallback for when a real PVR has problems. It is also full of annoying DRM and specially formatted USB drives meaning it will only be usable on this screen and no where else.

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

I can't see why not. I assume there would be a different button on the remote to swap between freesat and freeview. Which logically would allow you to be tuned to different channels. You need a GT owner or the manual to confirm that. I am just guessing

    Panasonic 42'' ST50 - Good choice ?

They downloaded for me. Just give it another go - maybe we were overloading the Panny server by us both doing it at the same time. :D Oh - and look up. I edited my post again. No, you cannot record one channel and watch another. A simple way to achieve that would be to pickup a cheapo...
