Watercooling in an Elite 431 Plus

Hi there, A couple of months ago I bought a Cooler Master Elite 431 Plus. I am running the hardware listed in my signature in it. I am currently awaiting the arrival of a Xigmatek XLF-F1454 which I will swap for the front fan, and most probably I'll put the front fan at the top. Now I...

    RAID for Backup

Thanks for the tips guys :) Yes yes I know that RAID will not replace backups, I'll use my sisters PC HDD for a backup of the backup of important files :p What I meant is that I want one place where I can back up all my files at once and put my mind to rest. I have no mission critical stuff, I...

Yep it will :) As regards applying thermal paste, I always use the small pea at the centre method. Works fine for me :)

    RAID for Backup

What do you mean? I won't use the backup drives for my programs or Operating System, I'll only use them to back up my Music, Documents and Pictures. Nothing else. And I want to use RAID 1 so that all my data is mirrored to the other drive, hence if one fails I shouldn't lose any data :)

    RAID for Backup

Ok so, my 750GB hdd is almost full because I've split it into two partitions, one serves as my OS "drive", whilst the other as my backup partition. Now I'm thinking about huying two large hard disks to put into RAID 1 so that I don't have to keep backing up things onto different PC's and...

    Low Heat S775 CPUs

Yes I think 65W is the lowest you can go: http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=26547 Imho something like the E7200: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=35348 should be what you aim for. The motherboard shouldn't consume more than ~35W I think, so they will still be...

CoolIT Systems - 240mm ECO info

I've been looking at making a custom loop or my CPU but I've been put off by the cost involved. If this is priced right and offers decent performance, I'll surely consider it :) Also as long as it fits in my Antec 1200 I can offer to help in testing if you wish :)

    External USB3.0 HDD?

Unfortunately afaik that model still requires a Power Source. http://regmedia.co.uk/2009/10/19/xs_3.jpg May be if you use a low power HDD (like the Green Series or the sort) you can run it off only on the USB cord.

what causes a prime 95 blend test to fail

Either your RAM is overclocked way too much, or your Processor/Motherboard's memory controller needs more voltage.

Want to run Dual HD 5770s but is my PSU up to the job???

Yes it should be fine. Your PSU has two 12v rails with 18Amps each. The 5770's need about 10Amps each.

Want 2x2gb to go with an unavailable product

running your old sticks at C8 instead of C7 won't result in any difference in real world usage, only in memory benchmarks :) My OCZ Gold overclock really well, so if you buy that C8 set you might get them down to C7 and still run them stable. For example my RAM set is rated to operate at...

    Need recommendations for a replacement

No need to worry, as long as you put your RAM sticks in first before the 260 you shouldn't have any problems using that motherboard :) Something like this though would be good for RAM/VGA swaps without any problems...
