DivideBuy Finance, data breach - Need advice.

Thanks for your advice. I've never used a service like this before so had no idea on Trueidentitys reputation or even worth in using it. I'll look into them some more before deciding. I admit the data that they claim has been obtained isn't too damaging seeing as how the vast majority of...

DivideBuy Finance, data breach - Need advice.

Hi all, So, it turns out the company Dividebuy have suffered a data breach and have emailed all customers affected (including myself) to inform us that potentially the following has been hacked: Name Date of Birth Address Telephone Number Email address Associated Alias (not that I have one...)...

Am I alone in thinking my work is being odd with how we request annual leave?

OK, thanks all for validating my feelings. I knew I was right to find this weird. I've had a formal chat with my TM and it's been made clear that nothing has changed in the way we request holidays and that this requests was just to courteous amongst team members. The initial communication was...

Am I alone in thinking my work is being odd with how we request annual leave?

I'm waiting on the minutes from the meeting I missed before I formally raise my concerns. Glad i'm not the only one who finds this odd. I've already sounded off in our Microsoft Teams chat.

Am I alone in thinking my work is being odd with how we request annual leave?

Hey, So for the longest time, requesting annual leave at my workplace was done pretty much the same as it has been done everywhere else that I've ever worked and how I imagine it works in most places. I am part of a fairly large team and so there is a spreadsheet where you indicate what dates...

    Unable to update Windows 10....

Again, thank you for your help! I think I've gotten confused as to the meaning of the Windows update page in my settings. Thanks to your advice I think I've been able to apply whatever update patch it was wanting me to do, but the message it now displays is clearly suggesting to me that I...

    Unable to update Windows 10....

OK sorry form late reply and thank you for your response... I am confused.... I disabled network connection and attempted to run the disk clean up program, selecting the Windows update files. Apparently 4.0GB worth. I think this worked. I can't delete the software distribution folder as it...

    Unable to update Windows 10....

Hi all, So... Windows 10 usually updates itself rather frequently and fairly regularly with no issue. I've had my PC since January 2017. I've not been on my PC for a few weeks and today it's telling me that there's another update and it needs me to manually perform a restart. Fine, no...

Case intake fan doesn't spin on startup...

OK, so I THINK I have fixed the issue. At least on this PC session haha! In my BIOS there is a section to control fan speed and you can adjust it based upon system temperatures. I simply lowered the initial temp trigger to what the temp would be when I first turn the pc on (around low 30's) and...

Case intake fan doesn't spin on startup...

It's definitely not the mobo or power supply that's the culprit. Everything else is works fine, everything is just over 1.5 years old. Just this one case fan on startup. I need to remove it and try some WD40 or something like you say. Please explain PWM and DC values in thew BIOS. I'll...

Case intake fan doesn't spin on startup...

Hi, I have a 200mm intake fan that is part of my case at the front of my pc (details below for all hardware involved) and for some reason, as of late, it doesn't not spin when I turn my pc on. I actually have to physically give it an initial light spin with my hand and then in kicks in. I've...

    Virgin Media Discussion Thread

They are good (when it actually works) for raw speed downloads of large files as well as browsing the internet/ streaming shows in 4K, 1080p etc but God awful for gaming thanks largely to their atrocious new super hub 3 which has a known fault with the chipset inside it and of course, mass over...

Problems with office chairs at work...

The patronising has already begun. I've now had 3 different chairs of varying size and they are all crap. The same "family" of cheap tat that they think is acceptable to provide us with. The facilities staff are useless. It's down to adjusting your posture. Adjust the chair. Is it ********...

Problems with office chairs at work...

Hey, OK so to put things as simply as possible, my new employer (a large company with swathes of money) has done the stereotypical thing and filled the office where I work with a plethora of cheap, crap chairs that look like something from the late 90's or early 00's and are all uncomfortable...

Plugging a HDMI cable into a PC whilst it is turned on

Hello, Would it be ok to plug a HDMI cable from my TV into my PC (graphics card) whilst it is powered on? Reason I ask is that I would like to know if the below scenario is possible without damaging any components involved: Start a game on PC in different room to the TV. Game loads up...

Using unshielded Cat 6 Ethernet and HDMI 2.0 cables over 10 metres

I don't think it'd work for gaming. Looks like it's good for wiring up a large house or a pub with multiple TV's hooked up to Sky or something.

Using unshielded Cat 6 Ethernet and HDMI 2.0 cables over 10 metres

Hang on, what? I thought Cat 6 cables were just for Internet? The TV has an Ethernet port but I don't think my graphics card on the PC does.

Using unshielded Cat 6 Ethernet and HDMI 2.0 cables over 10 metres

OK, so a long HDMI cable could be problematic but it's not a certainty. I mean I could deal with a regular style tube HMDI cable, googled 'HDMI 4K length' and found two cables that people swear by over long distance. I need to actually measure the distance properly (not moved in yet, waiting on...

Using unshielded Cat 6 Ethernet and HDMI 2.0 cables over 10 metres

Why the concern over length for 4K? I currently connect with a 4 metre HDMI cable and it's fine? Just to add, I game at 1080p. I can't do 60fps plus at 4K on a big tv haha. I bought the 4K TV for watching videos on at 4K.
