Connecting 4 displays to my AMD 6870

Thanks for your reply. My card has x2 DVI, x1 HDMI, x2 Displayports, so 5 in total. Ah great, so are you saying that if i purchase a displayport cable and connect one of my monitors via that, i'll be able to drive a 4th panel (my TV?)

Connecting 4 displays to my AMD 6870

Hi all, Apologies if i'm a being an idiot, i've been out of the game for a little while! :D I currently have an AMD 6870 in my computer, and i'd like to run 3 24" monitors @ 1920x1080 in either extended mode or as an Eyefinity group, plus my 42" LG TV @ 1920x1080 as separate display. I...

Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Do you guys reckon i'll get away with a single 6970 using Eyefinity @ 5760x1080, and a Q9400 at 3.33GHz on medium settings? I need to upgrade my motherboard/cpu/ram at some point, but can't afford to do it just yet! :p

Should be useful, thought it could put a few minds at ease. 6990 and 590 performance is currently poor due to their being no multi-gpu scaling in this alpha:

    Eyefinity Recommendation?

Thanks for your advice creed, I already have an aftermarket cooler on board, so it's just a case of cranking the juice and keeping it stable :D My plan is now to grab a 6970, and try and hold out until the end of the year before buying anymore parts! I'm happy to run at a lower settings as...

    Eyefinity Recommendation?

I'm actually running dual monitors now, but one of my panels has gone a strange colour and is on it's way out (its about 8 years old) I really didn't think my CPU was that much of a bottleneck, it still scores about 13.5k on 3DMark Vantage, which isn't the best but still up to task, whereas...

    Eyefinity Recommendation?

Hey guys! I've been out of the loop on GPUs for some time, and was wondering if you could help me select a video card for running 3 monitors. I am due to order 3 of these and I'm wanting a graphics card powerful enough to run BF3 @ 5760x1080 at a decent framerate and a reasonable level of...

BT Broadband and Gaming , New router ?

This. Try and keep cable lengths to an absolute minimum, especially RJ11 which tends to be unshielded more often than not.

Windows 7 locked out of encrypted files, help?

I formatted the hard drive, and did a fresh re-install, so there was no files in that directory. That's 10GB of music, pictures, and documents down the pan :( kind of serves me right, at least i know for next time.

Windows 7 locked out of encrypted files, help?

Hey there all, I recently updated from the windows 7 beta to windows 7 professional. Ive noticed that a lot of my files now have green text instead of the usual black text underneath them. After a bit of research, i found out that these files are encrypted. My hardware spec hasn't changed...

    Router suggestion

I have never used a router flashed with DGTeam's firmware, but everybody speaks very highly about it. I guess its just up to your personal choice, but like i say, i've used tomato for 2 years and never had to reset it, plus there is a feature where you can increase the power to your wifi...

    Router suggestion

Do you require Wireless N? if not, Linksys WRT54G Open Source, and flash it with tomato firmware. Turns a £40 router into a £150+ router :) i've been running one for nearly two years, no problems yet. In addition, it has a very advanced QoS configuration page, so you can tweak till your heart...

    Virgin Media Discussion Thread

hey zumber, thanks for your reply! even if i remove the router and have a direct connection to the modem, my speed will never exceed 7Mbps and 500Kbps upload, with appalling latency. I ditched the WNR2000 router which sucked a big one, and replaced it with an open-source Linksys WRT54G which has...

    Virgin Media Discussion Thread

I live in Newcastle upon Tyne and this is my current broadband speed with VM at "20Mbps" this kind of speed is deplorable. I'm due to move house in July and was considering 50Mbps, but if that's the kind of speed i receive, then i don't think i'll bother. Can anyone in the Newcastle area...

contention ratio ... better with smaller isps ?

not necessarily. Be broadband (and O2 broadband, as Be resale to O2) have a guaranteed contention ratio of 1:1, and they're regular ADSL lines. I'll be definitely be switching to one of them in the next few months, I'm currently with virgin, and with a contention ratio of 20:1, it starts to...
