Remembering the SEGA Saturn, and the big-wig execs that started the real console fanboy wars (!)

Probably for at least a year after it was released I wanted one and anytime we were in Aberdeen I would bug my folks to pop into Dixons in the St Nicholas Centre. They had a Saturn setup with Virtua Vop and the light gun and I would jump on it every chance I got. Finally got one in a bundle...

Added more games and tidied up the folders as I didn’t like how a pack I installed spread out arcade games by developer. My arcade games are still not working however, assuming it’s to do with the name core choice, should it be the extreme 2003 core on Abernic 35xx. I opened the config in...

I broke a load of arcade games on my 35xx Garlic install and no idea how. Need to reverse some steps, but currently absolutely hooked of Symphony of the Night. My other half has been playing the GBC port of Links Awakening, we still have her original GB and copy of this game which she hasn’t...

Oddly before going through it all again just did a test and it booted first time….. All working perfect, went with a pre made set which I am unsure if you can mention or not. Will be playing some classics tonight.

Hmm went through the Garlic setup and must have done something wrong as not booting. Will format and try again tomorrow.

My £7.65 Anbernic 35XX arrived this morning, first surprised by size thought it was bigger. Then surprised by the screen quality and the actual audio quality for something this size. I have a 128gb card waiting to be setup with Garlic and games, will get it on that this evening after work.

Just passed 40kWh for the first time with 40.2 and so obviously set my new record. Edit, forgot to add that March ended at 413kwh.

something went funky with my Solax app for yesterdays figures, was looking fine yesterday so assuming the clock changes have messed it up. Now reporting 1kwh exported and nothing else, however monthly total is still fine.

Had a couple of goods days this week and today should be excellent, the batteries were full an hour ago (2 x 5.8kWh). On a good day noticing a significant difference already with the days extending and still just March.

Any memories of the old shops we used to visit?

Electronic Boutique in the Bon Accord centre in Aberdeen was the main shop I remember going to for Megadrive games when I was young. As a teenager and older a small independent shop called Solid Gold games was my first place I remember being able to trade games. Owner and other staff were very...

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

Decided to give this lens a trial, as usual good price and condition from Wex used. I’ve never really used a fast lens of this range before, nearly bought the 70-200 when I used Nikon but never got it in the end. Hoping it will be ideal for a 2 week trip to France with family later in the year.

    The "New Gear/Willy Waving" thread

My X-T5 arrived last week while away with work, managed to snag a nearly new spare battery and the BC-W235 charger off eBay for a steal, followed a day later by a MHG-XT5 metal grip which I am very happy with as I never had it off my X-T3 but was struggling to bring myself to pay £129 for the...
