Sorry, where in CPUID can I see the CPU speed?

OK, removed the heatsink, cleaned up and applied some decent thermal paste (supplied wasn't very good I don't think) Heavy load is now reading 41c where it was 65-70c before!

Mobo is Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 AMD Socket AM3+ 8 Channel HD Audio mATX and details as supporting AM3+ FX. 3.5mhz is the stock speed.

Corsair Obsidian 350D. I'm still working on the setup so sides off right now. I'll put a few more fans in soon before I finish up.

Using HeavyLoad to stress the CPU. System is going to be used for gaming mainly. I'll need to pay closer attention to fans with this one I guess :-)

Zalman CNPS9900-MAX Seems like a really good cooler so I wonder if it isn't seated properly, more likely the thermal compound though as it screwed down really well. Pain if I have to remove it and re-apply the compound! lol. What's the best software to check cpu temp? I'm using CPUID...

What temp should I expect during idle on this cpu? I've just built the system so ran some stress tests and the temp. quickly went up to 62c. I read that this really is the max. it should be run at. I have a very good cooler attached but wondered if it wasn't sat perfectly/thermal compound...

Do you think AMD or Intel at this level? I always used AMD until my last couple of builds when I switched back to Intel and these have gone very well. Would a system at this level run FPS games quite well?

Not for this build, other than kb, mouse, poss. monitor for time being. I might stretch the budget a little to make sure it's decent to start with, just not sure about these shooting games on a PC!

Looking to build my son a PC. He wants to play the usual Minecraft etc. online so that doesn't need much power but would also like to have a go with first person shooters. Personally I wish he'd just use the XBox for this but I'm told different games/different experience...what do I know eh...

Looking to build a gaming PC for the kids. Don't need monitor, OS, KB or Mouse. Intel preferred, 8Gb Memory Min. 2Gb Graphics. Ideally under £500. Appreciate any input on this :-)

Building a cheap PC for a family member. Doesn't need to be anything incredible but want to do the best I can for the small amount. Will be used for day to day computing, nothing too strenuous! I'd like something that works quickly so SSD will prob. be essential. I guess built in...

I have a new Hazro HZ30Wif from OC. When left for a while the screen goes off as normal. When I return to it I can't 'wake' it up with the mouse or keyboard. I have to switch it off and back on. Also, when I switch off at the plug and come to switch back on, the monitors brightness level...
