    Spec me a job

Hi Judgeneo, I never really thought about Cyber Security as a possibility, sounds interesting; though I have no idea what the field entails ;) As far as IT goes, it is a term I have always struggled with. I have an interest in computing and have owned a computer from a young age. I would...

    Spec me a job

Not sure about England, but if its anything like Ireland, there are probably ways and means of getting undergraduate studies funded, should you choose to go to college. I personally didn't even finish second level, but I managed to get myself into a college access scheme, and I am much happier...

    Spec me a job

Thanks for the advice dowie, definitely something to think about. I've got a lot of soul searching to do yet, and I think I will probably flip flop another few times before I find something that fits. But sure, no harm there either I suppose.

    Spec me a job

In reply to 'dowie' (don't know how to quote individual portions). The reason I was vague in specifying masters type is that I'm not quite sure what I want to do as a career yet. I have been told that in many companies, there are practical limits on how 'high up' you can go without a masters of...

Had to look that up. (hoping it wouldn't be something which would shatter my delicate sensibilities ;)) Strange suggestion, but I like it.

    Spec me a job

I think that's probably good advice. I'll have to generate some hobbies first though, as I'm still recovering from the life consuming degree. :(

    Spec me a job

While I have a general interest in most things, I don't have a passion for anything in particular. I guess I'm more research and project minded, rather than a number crunching type; though I will do either.

    Spec me a job

Hi guys, I'd like to start by saying that I regularly read this forum, but seldom post anything. That being said, recent developments in my life have forced me to shelf my voyeuristic tendencies, and seek the advice of as many knowledgeable persons as I can lay my hands on. (figuratively...

2nd year Physics project, inspiration required

speed of light/sound in various mediums might be an interesting one. might possibly be able to use the principle in the construction of a sensor for an automation *thinking sonar type of thing* thankfully due to the instrumentation part of my course, we get lots of lab experience and the...

Wouldn't that involve some pretty heavy duty math? not sure i'm up to it. As astronomy is an elective module, it is pretty light hearted. We haven't really done much on doppler shifts and the material we have covered, was mainly from a conceptual viewpoint.

Yea, i guess your right, still.. might be interesting project and, as you say, if i got it built with time to spare I could try a few additions.

Hmmm, that sounds like it might be interesting *makes note*, by track, do you mean just move the telescope to the position i want, or would I be able to track an object (such as the moon) as it moves? I'm presuming that it would be 'just' a matter of programming projected path of the object in...
