.. Dont do windows 7 on the release candidate though, there was plenty of networking problems which came about though that, use something more "well known" to the industry like XP or Vista.

Consider yourself lucky, a lot of people have been struggling with connections in the RC, its a common issue, which i know was also in the RC for Vista, when the full version comes out, all should be coool :)

most likely iss the windows 7 release candidate, i remember when the vista one came out, i couldnt connect, it alwayss seems a sticky situation in release candidates :) the only thing you can try is plugging it in, otherwise, i would reccomend waiting till the full version.

could it just be that the 2mb connection is a "maximum", many companies refrer to it as say upto 2mb, which means that you will only get that if reallly no one is on, and at peak times, the conneciton speed drops. i wouldnt worry,

weird one, have you tried setting a static IP address ? to your router ?

if its only 10mb, you wont notice any difference, but i do know that the standard routers arnt paticularily good for security, your better off buying a cheap belkin, netgear, or d-link. but G will do just fine.
