I see. Hmm the price difference isn't too bad is the performance boost worth waiting for? I only need to sell my current rig to have my full budget and it looks like I could replace the GPU straight away at these prices :)
Thanks guys. Didn't know that the hybrids are duds will def stick with the WD 1TB in that case. The RAM options you've both suggested are better too. Ah I see what you're saying with the coolers that makes sense. Just had it in my head that I would go Promlitech as the piece I have is flawless
Not ever tried watercooling. Given the fact that the i7 will most likely tear through what I do and that my current Promlitech cooler has been outstanding I think I'm happier with the cheaper option.
Also interested to know why you see the i5 as better than the i7? I Haven't done any...
How about this?

ok First of all : -
Further to this thread I'm actually now considering doing a new system and getting rid of the set up in my sig.
The basics:
- I can contribute between £750 -£800 straight away. I need everything other than Windows, a mouse, keyboard and screen.
Other funding...
Decided to grab an SSD and a RAM upgrade.
Going with Crucial for the performance/£ altough their are a couple of tempting pieces in the MM.
RAM wise I have a triple channel memory set and , if I'm correct, I can upgrade from 6gb to 8g by just using two of them? Gonna purchase tomorrow either...

Is this worth it compaed to the Crucial for example? Can pick this drvie up for under £90 atm
The original SSD is insufficient given the bloated size of windows and the fact I have around 30gb worth of megapacks attatched to FM.
I actually have the system back now. May spend tomorrow playing with it but I def need a new SSD.
If I get the Sata Controller and and a new SSD I think that...
You would think so haha. I haven't yet moved onto FM15 but the demo itself runs my i7 laptop with an amd gpu to the max and thats with only one league running so it seems like it may be a little more demanding these days :(
Good to hear the RAM may not need upgrading. Maybe I'm over thinking...
You're not butting in at all the more the merrier :)
The only games I play on PC are Football Manager and the occasional dabble into Civ or something similar. For Football manager I have a load of kit, face and logo megapacks so I liked the idea of a larger drive.
Also, as far as I can tell, my...
No apologies needed I was being genuine. I didn't know that was possible :)
I was going to go for the Crucial as it's cheap but as I'm now happy to use my £200 budget on one SSD are there any recommendations?
Thanks for the advice guys :)
So I guess my options are to buy a larger sized SSD and stick a good backup drive in for a ghost image as well as further storage, which is fine, but as I kind of want to future proof myself for the next few years with my next purchase would I be better off selling...
Erm ok maybe some confusion here.
I want to purchase 2 x SSD with a minimum capacity of 200gb to raid in my existing build. I want to know what peoples advice is regarding if they think this will be the best way to go about upgrading since I only play Football Manager and a GPU can wait for a...
So I gave the set up in my rig to a family member but as my laptop is on the way out I have kindly been given it back :p
Think I need an upgrade. I play football manager exclusively on PC format so as far as I can tell I only need to upgrade the single SSD to dual SSD's in raid and maybe bide...
