    htpc spec check please

You should seriously look at a Gigabyte MB as you may be able to unlock a couple of cores of your CPU and get a quad for almost half price. You could also get a 550w modular corsair PSU for similar money. If you have the room get a case that takes a full ATX mobo, you won't regret it

    Which Mobo for AMD CPU?

You could take a punt buy the 550 X2 and and a gigabyte MB in the hope you can unlock an extra core or two..

    Project: Aquasidian (Corsair 800D)

Very understated, good work. This has got me seriously interested in this case and water cooling. I feel so ashamed about the fan ridden mess that is my main PC :/

    Huang "loves apple"

I think it's time for an apple backlash, sick of mac users telling me how great they are.. they are the fisher price of the technology world. Look good, work well but ultimately do nothing. Get over it. I say this having owned 6 macs (3 of which have been iMacs) in my time.. They are...

    Spec me a £250-300 rig!

I sure hope Agnes wasn't hoping for any universal opinions! I think anyone building a new 775 based system right now would be mad not to opt for the Blackops board at that price. For the record you can happily run modules from a tri channel pack in a dual channel motherboard.

    Spec me a £250-300 rig!

Intel route A little over budget but has lots of scope when current 775 quads fall in price... There is 'other' memory available which would reduce the cost.

    Tri-Channel in X48 dual channel ?

I have just done exactly this on my X38 mobo as I have the same intentions, it has worked a treat. I used this ram http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-017-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389 I was using the OCZ platinum before too...

    Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency (PVT36G1600LLK) Experiences?

The circuit board is green, I'm sure they're black on the overclockers page and they are definitely black in the reviews I've been reading. It's no issue for me but I know some are picky about this sort of thing. I'm going to try for 1868MHz tonight!

    Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency (PVT36G1600LLK) Experiences?

Landed today... Has a green PCB, thought it was meant to be black but no biggy.. Currently in my Foxconn X38A at 1780MHz, had to use loose timings to get it stable though.. So far so good!

    Best cheap 150GB+ 7200RPM HDD

Hello, I have a Maxtor 200GB in my HTPC as my main drive and it's getting noisy and slow, I think it's about to peg it. To be fair it is about 5+ and has been used for literally dozens of installs.. It's showing no errors but it can't keep up any more.. so to cut a long story short, what is...

Who has damaged/broken a CPU from overclocking?

A little, but I think something may give.... I have a Foxconn X38A which is a b*tch to overclock the only way I can get to 4GHz is by running my ram at 1780MHz not sure if the mobo will handle it though! Getting back to the thread, I did once fry a graphics card (I forget what it was) I...

    Patriot Viper 6GB DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency (PVT36G1600LLK) Experiences?

I have read lots of reviews of this ram claiming decent overclocks, one was running C9 at 1900Mhz.. I hope they're right because I need 1780MHz minimum out of these...
