*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

I tried the 6600 XT card and the game ran perfectly. Thinking the 6600 XT draws less power than a 6800 XT I tried a better PSU in case my PSU wasn't delivering enough peak power, that didn't work and the game still crashed with the 6800XT and the better PSU. I then tried a 6900 XT and the game...

*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

Thanks, that’s useful to know. I’m going to try the following: 1) a much older Radeon driver 2) The 6600XT card from my sons PC (ironically his game works - ROG Strix MB, Ryzen 7 5800X, RX 6600 XT, Win11)!!!!! 3) then I’ll give windows 10 a try. (Now I know I can simply move the existing BF2042...

*** The Official Battlefield 2042 thread***

I’m getting a crash during loading with a DXGI Device Hung error; played 181 hours without issue and suddenly start getting this error. I reinstalled the game, checked GPU drivers, underclocked GPU, clean install of Windows 11, installed BF2042 again, tried launching directly, via Origin and via...

Played on Portal tonight on a server with 500% damage. Great fun - every shot is like sniping a head shot.

I'll take a look shortly. Thanks.

    Vega 56 to 6800XT

6800XT! Wow is the best way to describe it over the Vega 56. Need some new games now to really challenge it but hitting 144 FPS at 1440p QHD resolution and settings maxed out on Apex Legends is quite nice. Looking forward to BF 2042 now. The card is heavy though so definitely needs the...

    Vega 56 to 6800XT

Man maths - never heard that before but will definitely be applying some of that when the parcel arrives and my wife raises her eyebrows at me!

    Vega 56 to 6800XT

Thank you, 3 votes for the 6800XT convinced me to go for it and I sold the Vega 56 within minutes for about twice what I originally paid for it!

    Vega 56 to 6800XT

I’ve got a MSI Radeon Vega 56 OC (flashed to 64) and looking on EBay these are selling for about £500. That means I could get a 6800XT by selling the Vega and stumping up another £500, upgrade cost would be much less than the 6800XT launch price. Is this worthwhile? Or would a 6700XT be enough...

    Radeon Vega 56 / 64 - Upgrade Options

Thanks. It looks like a wait is on the cards then given stock availability and pricing. Just built a new rig and GPU is the only legacy from the old set up.

    Radeon Vega 56 / 64 - Upgrade Options

Currently running a Radeon Vega 56 which I have flashed to Vega 64 to unlock GPU and memory speed and also undervolted it slightly to manage the temperatures better (the fan noise is still loud though). I am hitting 80 to 90 FPS on a 24" QHD monitor. What Radeon card (I'm an AMD fan boy -...

Rearranged Case Fans = Massive GPU Temperature Reduction

Correct no side fan; I suspect you are right especially with the top fan as well. I think the top and side fans were competing with each other and not enough air was getting in to the case.

Rearranged Case Fans = Massive GPU Temperature Reduction

System spec as per my signature. Case fans were set up with one side exhaust and one top exhaust. The CPU liquid cooler provided a rear exhaust and the PSU also exhausted to the rear. In the current warmer weather I was seeing GPU temperatures peaking at 90oC but typically sitting around...

thinking of changing gpu r9 290 tim

Cooler is really easy to remove, only 6 screws and then it lifts straight off. I changed my TIM the other day for Artic Silver 5 (AS5) and it made very little difference. You have to be careful though as AS5 is conductive so I would recommend using something that isn't silver based. I'll...

MSI r9 290 gaming one fan stops spinning temps hit 89*c!

I ended up RMA'ing mine and have to say Overclockers service was fantastic (despite a minor hiccup issuing the RMA number which was sorted without issue). They received that card at 11am On Wednesday and by 1pm a replacement order had been processed which was subsequently delivered at 9.30am...
