    Dune: Part 2 (2024)

Already stated a few times but I watched both yesterday. 1st film for the 2nd time and I liked it better. However this is the first time in years I've actually wanted a film to be longer as part 2 was a bit short for me. Big build up and then a quick finish. Most recent 3hr films have always...

What back GPU/s do you have ?

GT 710 for a basic GPU to get an output or diagnosing another system. The above works as a LP GPU too which can be useful for desktops which I get quite often. I do also tend to keep a middling GPU for when I'm changing my main system so currently have a RTX 3070 FE in reserve.

    Alienware announces the AW2725DF and AW3225QF (worlds first 4k 240hz and worlds first 1440p 360hz QD-OLED monitors - launches January 2024)

I have a AW3423DWF already. I spotted 3 32" monitors in stock on the Dell Outlet store. As they come with full 3 year warranties I'm prepared to try one within the 14 day return window for a possible £760.00 reduced price. Wasn't a great start as I failed 3 times to finish an order online with...

The 50k 10 Year Project / Show Car

I have modified and built kit cars in the past. My last project may have been to convert my already converted V8 RX7 to electric. Most likely Tesla running gear. Now we're only talking 5-7 years prior but even then the cost and complexity of the parts/kits available was going to be in the...

tell me why not to buy this hahah

40" IPS 155Hz just not that special these days apart from the size. For pure gaming it will look good but the low pixel density would stick out a bit in Windows. Maybe not an issue. Could you stretch to one of these? £720 refurb. Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming - AW3423DWF

After some advice regarding a used car purchase.

O2 sensor usually has a heating element so if it was disconnected then the sensor has fouled up. Just try the replacement sensor first.

How do you guys gauge a 2nd hand cards reliability?

I always check the B Grade section first for any system I'm building these days. All of my systems for the last couple of years have been at the very least used a B Grade case. 99% of the time it's the packaging that is damaged. Maybe the odd screw pack is missing but I have boxes of spares now.

How do you guys gauge a 2nd hand cards reliability?

I've bought quite a few now. I assume 2nd hand means no warranty unless it's really new. I'd really like a few photos showing a clean GPU but bought a GTX 1070 this week because the seller had many posts and responded quickly. I'm using a RTX 3070 from here in a 2nd PC and sold a system last...

    Ryzen ITX Motherboards

From what I've seen the NR200P v2 is based on the MAX which came after the original NR200P. To me the NR200P MAX is good value as it comes pre-fitted with a PSU & 280mm AIO. I also like the nVidia 4xxx FE GPUs in this case as the black and grey compliments in an understated way. Unless you...

    Ryzen ITX Motherboards

I had a i7 12700k before and it's not that much different in a lot of games only those that specifically benefit from the 3D cache. I'd wait and see too. Actually due to the additional cores in the 12700k the i7 is faster for productivity which wasn't a requirement for me. I tend to build a lot...

    Ryzen ITX Motherboards

I have an NR200P MAX on the desktop just to the right of my mouse and I'm not hearing any coil whine. I had to RMA the original case PSU due to coil whine so I am bothered by it when it's there.

    Ryzen ITX Motherboards

After looking at motherboards I settled on this one with a 7800X3D ASUS ROG Strix AMD B650E-I Gaming WiFi PCIe 5.0 DDR5 mini-ITX Motherboard Not much point of the higher chipsets as you can only fit so much in the ITX form factor. Still has PCI-E 5.0 for the GPU & 1 of the M.2 slots for future...

    Riser cables and pcie compatibility

Yeah modern BIOS often don't show a screen until they boot actual Windows. If you can enter the BIOS with pressing DEL during boot see if there is a fast BIOS boot you can disable or enable a 5 sec boot delay. Also see if there's a display BIOS screen option that may be disabled.

    7800X3D 65c idle temps

High temps are normal compared to say current Intel or previous AMD gen. That's basically because it runs hotter internally by design. You probably know this. Your average idle temps are undesirable so I would start with the idle power consumption. looking at my 7800X3D now in Win11 the idle...

    Riser cables and pcie compatibility

PaulM has pretty much answered your question but PCI-E riser cables stop the autodetect working in my experience so set the BIOS to the cable speed if that's the slowest part.
