Just to update this thread. I had an inspection don eby a structural engineer and he has verbally given me the all clear. It seems like the surveyor has made a big deal out of minor cracking.
Should have the written report next week.
That's what I am trying to avoid. I already know about the other issues and I just need to know if this cracking issue is severe. If it is then I have no choice but to walk away.
I believe it is plaster direct on brick iirc.
Yes they are, according to their email signature they are BEng CEng...
Thank you all for the advise. I am leaning towards the same approach so I have a structural engineer lined up for the inspection next week.
The structural engineer I have lined up has sent me the following proposal:
"Site visit to undertake structural inspection of existing structure...
Hi All,
I am in the process of purchasing a property built in 1981 which has had a single storey extension done in 1998. I had a level 2 survey done on the property which revealed some cracking to the property walls. One crack is 6.5mm wide. The Property is probate and has been vacant for...
I am a pharmacist by training myself and have left pharmacy all together about 7 years ago.
I now work in the Pharma industry and my role(s) have become increasingly WFH since lockdown (from 1 day WFH to full WFH now).
I don’t think I can ever go back to the office and being home based has...
Last month we found a cash buyer for our house (first home) and not long after we found a property we liked (probate), on which we had an offer accepted.
Today I received a call from our estate agent informing us that our buyer has pulled out. Quite disappointing as it's been over a month since...
Thank you all for your responses. Thought I would check first before proceeding with any firm. I still have the option to use the solicitor that I used last time as they have offices local to me.
The 2 firms are Home Legal Direct (homelegaldirect.com) and NBM Solicitors (Nigel Broadhead Mynard...
Hi All,
I have accepted an offer on my property and I have also had an offer accepted on a property I would like to purchase. We are now at the stage of instructing solicitors.
I contacted the last solicitor I instructed for the purchase of my current property and I was quoted roughly £1500...
Harvey’s quoted me £1500 to supply and fit a softener.
I ended up buying a Water2buy unit from Amazon which cost me around £330 last year and spent another £50-70 on the fitting kit and some connectors from wickes and installed it myself.
So far so good I would highly recommend it as it...
I think I paid roughly £180 for the 1600 at the time a few years back so let's say a budget of £200 max.
I don't have any upgrade plans in the near future (maybe in 2 years at least)
Forgot to mention that I use a 1440p 144hz monitor (updated main post).
Thanks
Hi All
Can I get some advise on the best CPU to go for at the moment?
I would like to keep my MOBO and just upgrade my CPU.
Main PC use is browsing/gaming (mainly COD warzone at the moment).
My current specs:
1440p 144hz monitor
ROG STRIX B350-F GAMING
AMD Ryzen 1600 @ 3.8

I never gave him my address. He’s 22 miles away from me too so can’t say I’ll run into him.
I have already tried calling and he won’t pick up. Whatsapp and he won’t respond.
I was under the impression it’s better to do everything in writing now so that I have evidence?
Don’t want to waste...
Hi All,
Been a busy week so haven't had time to comment on this thread.
So I have taken your advise and messaged him 3 days ago. I simply asked when I should bring the car back in to get the work corrected. No response until this date. I can see that he has been on WhatsApp but he has not read...
the car is sapphire black which is metallic I believe. The front bumper was riddled with stone chips otherwise in good condition.
the rear bumper was in very good condition except for 5cm area where the bumper has damage from it being reversed into a concrete post.
and I agree with both of...
Hi all,

I have an e46 cab. Body work is very clean expect for the bumpers so I thought I would get the bumpers resprayed and tidied up.
after a number of recommendations from the e46 owners Facebook group I booked it in with a...
