Hi all! :)
I'm looking for some advice on upgrading on a budget. I'm getting a new gpu soon (970 or 1060) and want to upgrade my cpu and mobo (and maybe ram) at the same time. Currently on an i5 750, 8gb ram, ati 7970.
Ideally want to spend as little as possible, but I'm OK with spending more...
Thanks for the recommendation Sonny!
I actually decided 43 was too much, so I went with the Hisense H40M3300, which looks pretty good!
I am concerned about its low brightness of 250 though, but I'll see if that's an issue when I get it. I've heard brightness measurements can be very inaccurate...
Thanks so much Sonny!
That looks really interesting! Never heard of the brand, thanks a lot for sharing it!
It says its only a 60hz refresh rate. My current set has not motion frame rate increase stuff (or whatever manufacturers call it) and I was wanting a set with one on to reduce blur in...
Hi guys and girls!
I'm looking getting a new telly, my budget is ideally no more than £300 which I appreciate limits my options.
Currently I cant decide between a named brand 1080p like the LG 43LF590V for £280. Or a cheap brand 4k, like the Argos Hitachi 43" UHD 4k smart TV (43HGT69U) for...
You guys are a bunch of geniuses!
You were spot on about the short. It was the cpu backplate which was touching a chip in 2 different places, so i cut it down slightly, put electrical tape on and its running fine now!
Thanks so much everyone! :)
Thank you both so much, I'll try that.
The video is now public, sorry about that.
If the case is causing the short is there anything I can do about it? :/
Hi all,
I'm having a problem with my new build.
It seems to be restarting after a few seconds, then starting up on its own randomly after that.
It also switches on if I tap the case!

In my research the p300 and 310 are fantastic compacts. And incredible value. They seem to be the best bang for buck by far.
But, and it's a big but, they don't shoot raw. Which is no problem to your average novice photographer not interested in serious photo editing.
Hi Guys!

I've been searching to find out the ram limitation on my missus netbook for ages now but no luck.
The model is
np-n102s / n102s
Found here -

There is no manual, just a crappy install for FAQ.
I went on Crucial...
This would be my recommendation, but I'd also add in the nifty fifty 50mm, f1.8 lens
I would personally go for the canon 600d over the d7000 myself, out of a preference for the size, weight and feel of the camera in my hands. The d7000 and 600d both take incredible pics.
hi guys,
I'm gonna get a 360 shortly, and I'm mainly getting it for ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 (fighting game) and netflix, so I was planning on getting the 4gb version as its cheaper.
But if I were to later start playing more and using it more is it easy to upgrade the hard drive? Anyone...
Absolutely.
£5 would equate to about 12 minutes of work in the design world.
I spend as much time on a logo as the client desires, but ideally I spend around 3 hours, which comes to £75 at the standard industry rate.
Which may seem steep to non-designers like Rebel_smoke, but when you pay a...
vlc is great, but I've found you get some serious gradient banding issues.
Which is why i use cineXplayer for everything but .mkv files. For mkv i use VLC and suffer the banding.
Absolutely. I'd stop searching now and get the s95.
For £200ish, wanting a standard zoom range, you cant get better. Great lens, wide aperture - good low performance, excellent detail, great colors. One of the best compacts there is.
Also for amateur run and gun shooting the DSLRs like the d3100 / d5100 and canon 1100d / 550d / 600d aren't great due to the poor live view system. They just aren't built to focus whilst looking at the rear LCD, which means very slow focus times during video mode.
The Sony slt a33 / a35 / a55...
