    City Fibre

Going straight to London is probably for the best. Not far from Leeds and my old Yayzi connection went straight to london resulting in 7ms pings to servers there. Currently my Youfibre connection appears to go via Manchester first and so pings to London are 10ms/11ms. Not exactly a meaningful...

4K gaming with 144/165/240 Hz monitors

Got a 4080 and play on 120Hz 2160p screen. Feel like I could use some extra grunt tbh :p but ultimately depends on the games you play and DLSS (mostly) does its job where necessary.

Not an error, deliberate so it does not appear as 'Custom' Well it shows FG on in your screenshots and Custom :p

Are you benching Low with Frame Gen on ? :p Also why do the developers think it is a good idea for presets in this game to have upscaling set to Auto so making comparisons is less useful!

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

Well tbh you can't go by the relative averages in there, probably cases where the 4090 is held back more by the CPU than the 4080 is. And TPU used a 5800X in the initial reviews which is a bit of a fail imo :p Still I think the 5080 should be around 4090 performance, if it is not then it best...

The T4 Cyclone Pro - 2 back buttons and a gyro - so handy, can do it on my DS4 pad with the back button attachment but I prefer the Xbox stick layout :) Will see how these 'hall effect' things go since apparently means no drift...

    Monitor Help

The MSI 27" G274QPX can be found for £350 at the moment and seems to be a decent 240Hz IPS for that price and has decent contrast for IPS. Though I would be tempted to go for an OLED if stretching the budget. Such as the one above!

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

I remember you having issues with the 7600 or 7600X, have you tried a recent 8 core CPU? (I don't get any frame time spikes on the 7800X3D)

How widespread is it and how do you know this?

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Define 'cripples' - On my lowly 4080 even DLSS ultra performance at 2160p RT overdrive results in 90%+ GPU usuage and not even 80 fps :p

    AMD Zen 5 rumours

Where are these areas that figuratively destroy 8 core CPU? If you were truly playing at 4K max RT you would be looking at fps in the 20s on a 4090 probably. More like 13 fps on a 4080. :p With a lot of upscaling and lower settings I can see big differences between CPU performance on a 5800X3D...

Help with windows smb file speeds

Are you saying you only get ~10MB/sec file transfers over SMB? I have 2xPCs with 2.5Gbit ports and a large file will transfer at maybe 283MB/sec - if its a folder with many snall files speeds will fluctuate wildly but not 10MB/sec bed :p

    Horizon Zero Dawn

I dont think that works in this game, using controller inputs seems to briefly lock out mouse so have to use gyro 'As Joystick'. It still works but not as good as 'As Mouse' Of course could bind all of the controller to keyboard inputs if really wanted that gyro as mouse :) Edit: Using a DS4...
