    *** Elden Ring ***

Spells do indeed seem a bit OP in this game just like Pyromancer was in DS1. Still getting used to dodging as it's much faster paced.

*** The official 2020 MacBook Air/13" MacBook Pro thread (it has the M1 chip and everything!) ***

Waiting for the obvious refresh incoming soon, the M1 has impressed me, but I try not to adopt new tech right away.

    Headsets

Most headsets should work on Mac OS, you could always check on the specs page. I'm currently using a Logitech G533 and they haven't done me wrong. Fully supported by mac os as per the website.

    i miss computer stores

I do miss the old computer stores, game for the vast choice of games (like others have said, it's just game time and some accessories now a days), and a certain still existing electrical retail actually had a good choice of parts (remember picking up my first ever PC upgrade there, a AGP 6600)...

'Performance and Energy' slider in W10 settings (5800X)

I believe it's more for laptops than desktops for battery life, but you can see basically what the slider does by clicking on Additional Power Setting under related settings. Got mine set to Best Performance personally.

    Quiet (silent) case?

Can't really go wrong with a Be Quiet! case for silent operation. Something like the Silent Base 601 would serve you well I believe.

Could anyone recommend a good office chair

Secretlabs, Noblechairs or Herman Miller are the best three to look at, just make sure you get one that matches your body type or it won't do you much good.

Blu-ray (optical) drive super slow to load and unresponsive often leading to explorer crashes

Might be worth a fresh windows install as you've gone from intel to AMD. Too many random issues can occur.

Replacement Laptop -As Capable for Excel as old one?

The AMD one would run rings round that i3 for productivity, actually really good value too. You would be able to upgrade to 16gb of RAM, and depending on the calculations you run, would benefit from this.
