    Battlefield 3 RETAIL Performance Thread

Running 5870 CF @ 1920x1200 (tried full Ultra and Ultra - MSAA) and getting epic stutter - game practically freezes and frame rate goes down to about 5.. rest of the time it's 60+ Tried 11.9, 11.10, 11.10 + CAT4.. Never had problems before I crossfired. Now even with crossfire disabled I get...

    Battlefield 3 & Graphics Cards

Hi guys, So I cranked up my graphics to ultra on my single 5870, but turned off MPAA and I'm netting a happy 40+ frames on 64 player multi at 1920x1200.. Couple of questions: Firstly I can barely see any difference between high and ultra.. is there any? Secondly, is MPAA worth forking out...

    What 24" Monitor? ~£450 Budget

Hi all, Up until now I've been happy with my BenQ FP241W 24", but it now seems like this is in the process of crapping out, since I have faint vertical grey lines in the middle of the screen.. So.. before it bites the dust completely - I've decided to get a new monitor. Here's my...

    Intel X25-M 80Gb vs WD Velociraptor 300Gb

Thanks for the feedback! It's good to hear from someone who didn't go to SSD from a crappy 5400RPM laptop drive. :) I think you've summed up the feeling I was getting: the difference must be immense to someone coming from 5400rpm, but coming from a well maintained VR it won't justify the...

    Intel X25-M 80Gb vs WD Velociraptor 300Gb

I'm seriously considering getting an 80gb X25-M for my OS drive, but I keep reading comments and posts by people that have gone from a Velociraptor (which I currently have) and not found the results worth the dough (~£200). Is the difference really going to be night and day? For reference, I...

    5870 but which one

Bar the differences I mentioned above, they're all identical except for warranty. I believe the OCUK warranty on XFX cards is a superior 2 year one though..

SAPPHIRE 5870 VAPOR X, SAPPHIRE 5850 & SAPPHIRE DISPLAY PORT ADAPTER

The 5xxx cards are reportedly much quieter. I never had a 4xxx but my 5870 is MUCH quieter than my old 8800GTS 512mb. :D

    Reliability of Asus vs Gigabyte

I've never had anything Asus go wrong. Mobos, graphics cards, sound cards etc. The front light on my Gigabyte case flickered out within a month though :D
