Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

To access half of my garage means access via a neighbours back garden, I've been round and asked politely. They agreed, lovely. I've also spent the weekend finding a nice route through from the garage into the centre of the property, where the consumer unit and power comes into the house. We...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

OK so I've been flirting with more companies to see what their approach would be and price points. One local company immediately sent a chap round to come and complete an assessment and really talk through my options. Including how to tackle the potential routes from centre of the house into...

Thanks for the responses, I've reached out another company just to see what their approach would be. I'll report back.

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

It’s a mix of south east and south west, no shade other than natural shade from the transition of the sun over the property. Meter and the consumer unit are at the same location, under the stairs bang in the middle of the house. As above Good to know regarding their workmanship, they get rave...

Solar panels and battery - any real world reccomendations?

Evening, Work has the Octopus EV Salary Sacrifice scheme which has peaked my interest. Low and behold that has sent me spiralling into the world of solar and battery storage. I live in a new build (4 years old) and in the builder infinite wisdom they decided against running any significant...

    Seeking a Canadian national

Good evening, Mods please delete if not allowed. I work for an MSP and I’ve currently got an open position for an infrastructure / platform engineer. The ideal candidate needs to have experience in the usual; storage (NetApp)/compute (Dell/Supermicro)/networking (NSX-T)/virtualisation...

    Sky FTTP VPN Issues

I'm with Sky (fttp 500mb) and I get this when downloading from SSL Usenet. If I rate limit to a few mbps below max then it's fine. Let it rip at full pipe and then the line just drops and DNS gets blackholed. Rather annoying and I'll probably leave them once my contract is up.

    Home Assistant beginners

Yup, there are a few options within the relay interface on how it handles switch input states. But yes, the live feed goes into the Shelly and is always active and online.

    Home Assistant beginners

I'm running HA in Docker on my unRAID. I've been running around the house installing Shelly relays in all my light switches. I've had a play with their motion 2 and button 1. I was worried that the motion 2 was going to be slow given it's wifi, but works pretty well. Anyone else using Shelly...

    Track day advice

Take your own car, it's a car you are familiar with and should have a pretty good idea of how it drives already. Bedford Autodrome is a great track for your first. Large, wide track, lots of run off. Relatively cheap to book too. Most of the track day event organisers offer tuition for not a...

Legacy G Suite users - what are you going to do?

Thank *** if you feel you must swear, it should be fully starred. Do not attempt to get around the swear filter by partially disguising swearing *** I found this thread. I literally just went through the ballache of consolidating my users in prep for "upgrading" to Workspace Business Starter...

*** Official Ubiquiti Discussion Thread ***

I had issues with Sky Q too, I had to uncheck the "Connects high performance clients to 5Ghz only" under the SSID settings. That then allowed the Sky boxes to use the 2.4Ghz network. Then I went ahead and completely hardwired my Sky Q and Mini boxes anyway :D
