I would definitely look into UV LED strips as these can cover a much larger area than traditional cold cathodes and are much easier to make look pretty. Some of the pictures you see may have been enhanced though, so don't expect all results to be the same!

yeah I have the h440 and it does run hotter than my old case (phantom 410) you need high static pressure fans on the front and top to get some air past the restrictive grills. they have just brought out the noctis which is basically an upgraded 440 without the sound dampening qualities but...

Well it's currently cooled by two corsair sp120s blowing cool air down onto the rad from outside the case, I think I would struggle having push pull without using some thin fans or modding the top cover of the case, there is quite tight size constraints. My current cpu sits at 30degrees idle...
