What is the best car you've ever owned and a brief reason why?

Integra DC5. My first proper car if you will. Grin on my face every single time I drove it. Plenty of poke, stuck to the road like glue, oddly economical considering... Were money no object I would definitely have one again.

Upgrade options for the system on 8700k

Slight necro, sorry. How's this performing? I'm still on an 8086k, 32gb, 3070 and contemplating some sort of upgrade as it's starting to feel a little slow at 1440p. Be interesting to see how much of a performance uplift you're getting?

    Open world strategy games???

Rimworld for on-world survival strategy colony sim, good fun and easy to sink dozens of hours in. Stellaris is one of the go-to space strategy games, does everything you ask. Sins of a Solar Empire also ticks the boxes. Likewise with Homeworld (remastered versions are around, and the next...

Hell Let Loose...Company Of Hero's, meets FPS

Have felt since the last patch that fps has been a bit hit and miss. Try running in dx12 if you aren't already (launch commands), that seemed to get me better frames

    Baldur's Gate 3

I'm happy they've moved the release forward, had a good time with the access we've had so far though I've been trying to not get too far into it... Annoyingly I was planning on taking a day or two off for the release to get a good start into it, but alas I'm the only tech at work so that'll be a...

Hell Let Loose...Company Of Hero's, meets FPS

Try the actual Steam server search, not the in-game one. I find it works a lot better adding to favourites on that. Keep the game open, tab out, find a server one that and hit connect, open the game and it's loading in usually. But shocker as Team17 stick their foot in it

The Official Pizza Discussion thread (was: Cooking Neapolitan Pizzas with the Uuni 3)

Well after having my Karu 12 for almost two years, it's finally seen some use the last couple of weeks! First two times using were with Northern Dough, neither defrosted that well and the whole thing was a bit so-so. Then I tried making my own using the poolish recipe on here and man, what a...

Hell Let Loose...Company Of Hero's, meets FPS

Unless you have a machine gun, in which case by the time you've fired a third burst you're dead because you fire tracers

    The **Now Eating** Thread

Wife's birthday earlier in the week so made a (new recipe) batch of cardamon buns. Came out very nice but I'll definitely be changing recipes again, this one was a two-three day affair!!

Hell Let Loose...Company Of Hero's, meets FPS

Not been a long-time HLL player, but convinced/coerced my group into all getting it a month or two ago and we've been thoroughly enjoying our time - we've all got countless hours in Squad, Arma, Post Scriptum etc so this had obvious appeal. It is a through-and-through half hearted attempt of a...

Gearbox/synchro issue or clutch slipping? Honda Civic

If you've got a jack it may well be worth just lifting it up and taking a poke around behind the wheel with a torch, see if anything obvious jumps out or has play in it. They're good cars for their age - my 2006 Civic is on the drive and been sat there for over a year waiting for me to stick...

Gearbox/synchro issue or clutch slipping? Honda Civic

Flush the gearbox fluid and get some new in and as above, get into the habit of double de-clutching and you shouldn't have any troubles. Synchro issues like this aren't uncommon on the Honda 6 speed boxes, been like it for years.

    How many DINKs here?

What about DINKWAD? Dual Income No Kids With A Dog - very popular place to be! For reference both 31, we were waiting til we had a house (coming up to two years of owning now...) and was a case of "let's see what happens first - kid or dog come summer" - the dog won :D We both want kids, at...

    Consumer Rights Act 2015

Does the item come with any sort of manufacturers guarantee or warranty? The conditions under that should lay out what they would do. CRA is mostly aimed at consumers, a lot of business-to-business elements are still governed by SOGA 1979 as far as I'm aware. Ultimately I would have thought you...

    This Business and Moment...

Oh I get what you mean. New place had every right to not include me on any pay review, and I was expecting them not to when they announced it would be taking place. But I get the feeling in the very short time I was there they saw my worth, and already knew how difficult it was to get my skill...

****The Official Mountain Bicycle Gallery Thread****

Well as I now live 6 miles from work I thought I could try this biking lark. Nukeproof Scout 290 Comp in XL. It actually turned up damaged, annoyingly. Seemed ParcelFarce were oblivious to the "This way up" markings all over the box so it's been upside down and dragged which ground the stem a...

    This Business and Moment...

So I changed jobs at the tail end of last year. Staff Operations position became available at the site as someone moved offshore, I was the natural replacement - same skillset / trade background - and know the site (arguably and demonstratively) better than a lot of the Ops techs already. So...

Need a new MTB - struggling to make a decision

Slight thread revival... But I'm in a similar boat. Currently got my eyes set on a Nukeproof Scout 290. The Comp seems noticeably better, parts-wise, than the Race, but an extra £400 (at CRC and Wiggle I think?) seems quite a bit of money. Norfolk being Norfolk we don't do hills really, but it's...

*** Show us your Dogs ***

I must admit I was dreading our Vizsla doing this as they seem to love it as a breed, but hasn't in the year we've had him. Though last weekend on a nice long cross-country walk he decided to roll in a surprisingly fresh cow pat as I was bending down to pick him up and lift him over a stile...

    The **Now Eating** Thread

Just had the last one... decided to try my hand at something different at the weekend and had a go at making cardamom buns. I haven't touched dough since I was in high school and made some overly salty rolls 17 years ago! Was a very therapeutic experience making the dough, thoroughly enjoyed it...
