I feel this post was lost, and I, for one, would like to hear more about this AWD conversion, I assume Syncro bits?

    Insurance question by an idiot

You do need to declare it, but as said, it's highly unlikely to affect your premium. Every quote form I've ever filled out (anecdotal, true) gave Windscreen as an option when declaring claims. It will probably start to make a difference if you make an abnormal number of windscreen claims with...

    Motorsport Off Topic Thread

It looks promising, but I suppose the proof of the pudding will be in how many teams get involved, and how competitive it is. The intentions all seem pretty good though so I'm hopeful.

What have you done to your car today?

I'd definitley go the ramp route for your use. I use a set of Rhino Ramps which stack together and really don't take up that much space (more than a couple of axle stands I grant - assuming you already have a jack), but I feel more comfortable working under the car when it's on those. Plus it's...

Being charged £169 to cancel a policy

Remember that Adrian Flux are a broker, they place your cover with any of a huge range of insurers in different markets. As a result you're likely paying the insurer's cancellation fee, then Flux's own fees on top. When looking at brokers it's worth shopping around as it's not just insurers...

Every time I see an image of that I think it's a bad photoshop. I'm always disappointed to remember that I'm seeing reality.

Wifey needs a new car but I'm out of suggestions. Help please

Definitely. Even the 207 would be pretty safe. The French were the first to achieve a 5 star NCAP rating (Renault Laguna IIRC) and you'll find they're well up there - certainly not flimsy when it comes to occupant protection.

    Lithium Jump Starters

I have a NOCO Genius Boost GB40, the smallest one they make. I bought it for my M5 but (un)fortunately never used it there. I have used it on my Elise however where it's been most effective, but that's a fairly low-tune 1.8L I4 not a 4.9L V8.

£900 for a new clutch and flywheel, was he ripped off?

Some lovely roads round by Smarden, can't wait to get the Elise back to get out there again (just refreshed all the suspension components and it's getting aligned this week).

Was going to say the background looked vaguely familiar. At Aylesford? Have a soft spot for a rally rep, even including all the Subarus.

What have you done to your car today?

I also got up at 6:30 this morning and was out by 7:00, but I went for a drive to add some more bugs: Reprised a large part of the recent South-Eastern meet route across the A264 towards East Grinstead, over the Ashdown Forest from Wych Cross and back along the A264, up through Penshurst and...

OCUK Civilised South-Eastern Spring/Summer lunch (date confirmed 21st July)

Suffice to say that I don't think we will be having lunch at the Woodman next time. I'm not sure that the Woodman's new management is a patch on the last one, it used to be much better.

OCUK Civilised South-Eastern Spring/Summer lunch (date confirmed 21st July)

I hadn't planned on stopping anywhere en route (despite all the pubs!), just used convenient checkpoints. So yeah, I think you'd have to get lucky! Or alternatively, wait at the Wych Cross junction - we should be going through at 12ish - so you can attach on then.

Just a reminder (or heads up for those who haven't been before), when we meet at The Moat we'll head to the rear car park as below:
