    CPU upgrade ?

Thanks .. cleared some space anyway. Restart of Outlook seems to fix things so pretty sure it's the culprit. Tracked down a 16Gb kit on eBay so will see how that goes.

Help me with a new build, no budget

I like the NZXT Grid+ to control the fans personally, keeps my Fractal whisper quiet whereas other solutions always seemed a bit hit and miss. HTH

    CPU upgrade ?

By day nothing crazy .. Office, Chrome with lots of tabs, SQL Dev (no local DB, that runs on the TS140). Boot drive has 25Gb free so thought that should be plenty. Outlook is the app that stutters / hangs most. Could be app related of course. Run this lot @ 1440p. Gaming wise I play Fifa...

    CPU upgrade ?

    ...just upgraded from a R9 270 3Gb to a RX 480 4Gb GPU. Other system specs are: Intel Core i5 4440 (Haswell - socket 1150) 3.1GHz CPU Gigabyte H87M-HD3 Motherboard 8Gb RAM (Patriot 1600MHz DDR3) ..with a 480Gb SSD + Windows 10 Pro. Windows gets a bit stuttery sometimes and I noticed memory...

    Dell WD15 dock charging issues

...anyone? Mine says 'Plugged in, not charging' 130W charger hooked up to it, powering a Dell 7370 laptop. Everything up to date, all other dock ports working great. Charges fine with the seperate USB-C charger included, just not with the dock. Cheers!

Good luck with USB-C on the new Macbooks, just about to sell mine and taken delivery of a Dell 7370 with all the bells and whistles.

    Is ESXi the answer?

Right .. decisions made. Virtualisation for NAS seems like an accident waiting to happen so I've treated myself to a Synology DS1515+, I have a bunch of existing 3Tb Reds that can live in there and can always bolt on a DX513 if I get short on space. Pretty sure it won't be up to my Plex...

    Is ESXi the answer?

:( Indeed .. wasn't hard to get it out of shape from what I recall!

    Is ESXi the answer?

Interesting option .. wonder how/if plex runs in OMV and how it'd run in a VM hanging off of it - will check it out. Thanks!

    Is ESXi the answer?

Similar to what I had (I use drive pool) .. a super quick recovery method for boot drives you'd recommend?

    Is ESXi the answer?

A bit like I had before, trying to keep as little as I can on Windows really, today reminded me why I don't like to rely upon it :-( ..are they VX220s in your sig? Nice!! Had a tuned VX220 turbo myself back in my 'youth' - might even still be around on the owners club, reg M77 VXT

    Is ESXi the answer?

That's what I'm running now....Windows 7 has just eaten itself and it's reminded me that I'd love to segregate storage and applications with a quick recovery solution.

    Is ESXi the answer?

...new to ESXi so be gentle Looking to repurpose my Windows box for the following roles: - NAS - Plex server - BlueIris (Windows only security camera monitor) - VPN / FTP server etc... Was thinking of an ESXi box with a Windows and xpenology VM on it. Plex / BI can run under Windows...

    Flightdeck A32x build help please

So are the specs vastly optimistic then? http://www.a3xxflightdeck.com/system-requirements There's a YT vid of it running under parallels on a Mac so it can't be that hard on the GPU surely?

    Flightdeck A32x build help please

Hi! Helping my brother in law spec a training rig for this sim, total budget (including monitor / KB / mouse) is approx. £1000. Specs on their website look fairly modest but wondered if there were any real world users on here for some input. Cheers! Adam

Displayport vs HDMI .. colour differences + DP passthrough

Just purchased 2 Dell 2515 monitors, generally very impressed but notice that the colours are different between DP and HDMI inputs .. especially noticeable when I'm extending a screen over them - monitor settings are identical. Any ideas on how to fix this? Seeing as they support DP...

Just swapped my 8 for a 10 .. well worth the extra. What kind of gaming are these things capable of? Anything worth playing on Steam? Thanks!

    Cheap Boxsters

..fair enough on the looks, guess I'm in the minority and I've never been a fan of the MX5 either :-) As for exploring the limit, I'm all for that, but I want it to be about exploring when I wish and with plenty of warning not 'Oh flip, I'm in a hedge' .. later ones are a lot more planted...

    Cheap Boxsters

..can you explain to me the S2000 thing please? Maybe I'm missing something. I drove a few and I found them: - Twitchy on the limit - Tiring and noisy to drive if you wanted to have fun - Boring to look at (this is subjective of course) Of course on a practical note they're well...

Good Cheap Server - HP Proliant Microserver 4 BAY - OWNERS THREAD

I found my N54L could do a single 1080p transcode comfortably, it was when you wanted to stream or transcode another file it would start to hiccup.
