    Leaving Demon... but where to?

thanks for the replies guys and for the detailed post marc2003. I think you have done enough to convince me away from BT :) UKFSN looks good to me, the 1 month contract and 300gig off peak is more than i would ever need so i think i will go with them. To all those who suggested BE, well i can...

    Leaving Demon... but where to?

I am currently on Demon 8mb ADSL and my 12 month contract is about to expire. I have been genrally happy with the service but the 50 gig monthly limit is a bit restrictive and this is the reason for me moving to a different provider. One thing i don't want is Virgin Media! I see that UKOnline...

quick e6600 temp question, please help asap.

Your temps should drop off quite a bit from stock cooler, especially at idle. My e6600 at idle with stock cooler was 47 and with the Noctua is 35 (this was at stock speeds). If you have left voltages on the auto setting you might want to check what they are being set to. With my EVGA if i left...

New cpu cooler to fit an evga 680i with 4 ramslots free

I'm not sure you even need someone using 4 slots? If they are using dimm 0 then this is the closest to the cpu socket. In my case i have the Noctua with the fan placed closest to dimm 0, it does not obscure the slot and i can remove the memory without removing the cooler fan. If you decide to...

Orthos..the be all and end all?

OK guys thanks for all the suggestions. I have been adjusting the vcore upwards until i can find happy ground for stability and temps. I left Orthos running last night and all was well this morning. I had to ramp up the voltage to 3.6 to get it stable but so far so good. So i'm now on e6600...

Orthos..the be all and end all?

Hi, I got around to fitting my Noctua to my EVGA 680 a couple of days ago and have been playing about with fsb ect to see what i can get out of my e6600. At the moment its sitting @3.4 with 1.3v and idle at around 40-42 degrees. I have been using it for most of the day like this and have run...

Thinking of changing from onboard audio?

When i got my EVGA 680 i was quite happy with the sound of the onboard audio. As it was a HD chip and quite high spec i thought it would suffice until i had the funds for a seperate sound card. After doing a bit of research and weighing up the cost vs quality area i decided to buy the Bluegears...

    Noctua + EVGA 680

Hi It's my own fault for not looking at the motherboard compatibility list on the Noctua website but i have ordered this cooler and then noticed that it is not compatible with the c00 release of my board due to some capacitors obstructing the backplate. Has anyone fitted one of these with...

    F.E.A.R.

OK, so i got FEAR Gold Edition and loaded up Extraction Point. I don't think that it is better than the original, i suppose it on par but there is more disturbing imagery than the first  Only downside is that i found it to be much shorter than the original but there are some nice...

    Unreal tournament

I reinstalled UT and used the OpenGL 3.4 rendered with all the settings as per the website. The only thing i can't get to feel right is my mouse settings. I have always had low sensitivity set in UT (about 2-3) and this used to be fine for me before but there seems to be a lot of acceleration, if...

    quick z5500 Q?

Have you changed any hardware since getting your 5500's? When you originally whacked it up was it through the same source as you are trying now i.e optical/coax/analogue?
