Febi is by far the best BMW aftermarket parts supplier in terms of reliable quality, in my experience. I've had very dodgy Meyle parts but Febi has always exceeded expectations. That said, the Meyle HD brakes I bought were really good and I haven't tried Febi brakes.

Well done :) The way I read it you will get the paper deeds, you took the mortgage in 1987 which is before 2003 when the LR went fully computerised. Make sure you keep the deeds safe in a fireproof box or with a solicitor.

Buy a set of winter wheels and tyres. It will make the refurbishment easier, because you'll have loose wheels, and it will save the current wheels from road salt.

I've just remortgaged from a Fixed rate to a 2yr Tracker... starting to think I'm a bit crazy (and it is certainly against the crowd) but there is a lot of thought behind the decision. No overpayment charges or fees on the tracker and I can move to a fixed rate easily. We'll see if rates go up...

That is really frustrating. Mindless vandalism by some low life. Although you can look at the positive, when you get the bumper resprayed you'll have a perfect stone chip free front bumper.

You can definitely do it without opening the boiler. I did just to double check wiring but you can tell from the wiring going into your current stat. Use a screw terminal block to connect your earths together.

I've got exactly the same boiler and a Nest 3rd Gen so good news is it is possible and pretty easy to install. The biggest thing for me was double and triple checking everything before turning everything on because if you get it wrong you end up with a fried boiler PCB and an expensive plumber...

Not me, I don't even know what my horn sounds like :) I just like to make progress and I'm a bit of a geek learning the traffic light phasing so I know when the lights change before they do :p It is the dawdlers that I dislike.

My peeves, road users: 1. Coming to a complete stop/crawl at every roundabout even though there is nothing else coming. 2. In a queue of traffic at a red light not being prepared when the light turns green (especially if they are 5+ cars back from the front) I'm probably considered inpatient...

Other than the fact that when stuff fails, like the DISA, it will destroy the engine. Or when the expansion tank fails it will leave you stranded and could cook the engine. For the peace of mind that it will be good for another 100k miles it is worth doing everything in one hit.
