Yes OS is on the SSD. AHCI mode was set prior to the installation. With regards to write-back cache, the "Enable write caching on the device" tick box is selected against the drive in Windows 7 device manager. Is this what you are referring to? Thanks

Thanks Tealc, The H80 has three speed settings so I'll experiment with those. I'll see how much noise is generated and maybe consider a fan controller. Can you recommend one or are they all much the same?
