What a bell end - caution Daily Mail link

Spec me a car to use as a parking space holder

No worries. I was a bit of a douche for doing it, I'm mellower now. Even had another neighbour from hell at the current address (fortunately she's moved on) and didn't resort to petty revenge despite how satisfying it could have been.

Passive aggressive wimp remember and it would have given the game away.

Spec me a car to use as a parking space holder

I'm in a sharing mood so might as well share my parking dispute and resolution of a number of years ago. Back in 2009 I moved in with my partner to a 2 up 2 down terrace house on a narrow street (ex pit houses). At the time I had several vehicles which I used to keep at my previous house but as...

Car that was the most fun to drive?

I enjoy my 2.8i Capri (I even like driving my 8v MK3 Golf GTI) but the most fun I have is in my Classic Mini. I used to have a 160ish-bhp turbo lump in it but sold it to raise funds for another purchase and have thrown a relatively standard 998 in it. I much prefer it with the 998 in as I can...

    Diesel treatments

I occasionally chuck about 400ml of 2 stroke oil in my old PD130 A6 when I tank it up. After about 100 miles it becomes noticeably quieter and picks up about 3-4mpg over the tank. Bum-Dyno says it feels a bit more responsive too but I expect thats just the placebo effect. I only put it in when...

Need a new motor thinking about E61 beemer

Thanks Turbo, food for thought. I'm not anti-diesel a mate has an impeccably maintained and well specced pre-lci 535d and is wanting to upgrade to an M5. If it became available I'd have it in a heartbeat.

Need a new motor thinking about E61 beemer

So what can people tell me about these on here? Owner experience appreciated. My old A6 1.9tdi is getting a bit tired so it's time to start looking for it's replacement. Thought I'd just go for a 3.0tdi A6 Avant but I've got my eye on the E61 beemer now instead. Ideal world would be a LCI...

    What was your first car?

Passed September 1999 2 months after my 17th, my first car I got on the road was a £120 1988 Woodruff White Rover 213s (Think Hyacinth Bucket's car from Keeping Up Appearances). I put a VDP interior in it and when the engine blew up (woodruff key on cam disintegrated) I replaced the 12v 1.3...

    2 year old Audi A3 / 33k miles = clutch gone :(

My A3 was just under 3 years old and release bearing failed spectacularly. Audi replaced the clutch, flywheel & release bearing all under warranty.

Most reliable work horse car ?

Pfft! A measly 300-400k our family once had a 2.3d Sierra (originally dads car, then mums car, then mine). It wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding but our family had it from 68k and it was heading towards 600k when we got shut of it. All on its original engine, clutch, gearbox and diff...

    Transition from runflats to non-runflats

Old man has AS2's on the front and Dunny RFT's on the back of his E90 drives a lot better than it did with the Dunny RFT's all round (he's going AS2 on the back when the RFT's have worn out). It did upset the tyre pressure monitoring to start with but that seems to have sorted itself.
