Recommend a router: A tiny cottage with thick walls

I'm looking for an ADSL router with a stong signal strength to replace my free BT Home Hub. I have recently moved into an old country cottage with 30cm thick walls, a winding staircase and solid wooden floors. I love it.... my BT Home Hub does not! Unfortuantly running network cables through...

    Hmmm... 4gb of 1066mhz or 8gb of 800mhz DDR2?

I have an Asus P5QC, which has four DDR2 slots... but only 2 of them support 1066mhz memory. I'm stuck between getting 2 x 2gb of 1066mhz, or 4 x 2gb of good old 800mhz. Any recommendations - speed or quantity? For reference, I'm running Vista Home Premium 64-Bit on a E6600 Core2 Duo. Cheers! ;)

Opening an image in a new window (darn auto image resizing!)

I have an image on a web site that shows a map of the UK, with all the postal zones marked. On the main page I only show a friendly small version - but if you click on it, the full sized one opens in a new window. This is a seriously large image (about 1000x1500 px), but unfortuantly it has to...

Does anybody know of a decent free or open source VPN client that I can use to create an IPSec VPN from a desktop PC running windows XP? I'm trying to setup a VPN between a couple of offices, whose firewalls appear to hate each other. I was thinking of trying to set up a VPN from each office...

I have a server in a DMZ, behind a firewall, which is setup to block all unspecified ports. I need to ping the server from a command prompt - what port number do I need to open up to allow it to ping / be pinged? A simple question, but 20 mins on the MSDN site turned up empty. Thank you...

DomainKeys & secure emails - good idea, but does it work?

After having a problem with spammers spoofing my work email address, I came across some info on DomainKeys (which use public and private keys to verify the origin of emails). Sounds like a good idea, specially since emails are so stunningly easy to spoof. What are your thoughts? Ever used them...

Spam emails masquerading behind your email address - what to do?

An annoying American company is sending out spam random emails - nothing new there. But they are making it look like they are being sent from my business email address, which is giving us some serious aggravation from angry people mailing us with "UNSUBSCRIBE ME YOU *!*@#'ERS!". They tend to...

Writing an HTML email for a mailing list - image woes!

I'm trying to write an HTML email for our company's internal newsletter, and am having trouble finding a way to neatly send it. I have a feeling I may have gone about this backwards - I wrote it as an html page, and am trying to send it using Outlook 2003. In hindsight, this may have been a bad...
