I have an identical one in my dining room, it's over 60yrs old and belonged to my Granddad...needs a little work though as it won't run for more than 10 hours at a time.

Be careful using a timer as they are likely not going to be up to the job as the current drain will be too high for the switch and blow it possibly causing a fire...not what you want when you're soundly asleep in your bed eh?

They are good but the only downside is that the point of contact on the back of the board is very close to the hole and therefore unsuitable for suspending heavy weights from ceilings......they are designed more for walls where the load is a shearing weight

Only trouble with these is the massive hole needed to use them and they only use 2 narrow points on which to bear the weight and invariably they will pull through causing damage to the board These are by far the better fixing to use with plasterboard though you may want to be careful when...

Indeed they do and yes they are called ProCell. May be able to get them at your local professional power tools shop, that's where I get mine or, as mentioned, your local electrical distributers such as CEF, Edmunds Walker or Denmans......find a shop that the trades use and you should find them...
