System wide Equalizer software / Alternative to SRS?

Bumping this thread. Still annoying me day for day - still looking for an alternative.

MSN Live Messenger making CPU run at 70% load??

Real men use irssi + bitlbee, anything else (except perhaps mIRC below 6.31) should be considered an inferior product and you should feel bad for using it. Real men also use chromium or namoroka, especially IE is pretty much a pinnacle of failure.

    Two Questions about GPU Cooling

70c is practically nothing for a GPU, they can hit up to 90c just fine on stock cooling.

*** Splinter Cell: Conviction - Official Thread ***

I must say, I just finished SC: Conviction as well and I was extremely disappointed. I expected something like what we saw in the trailers, crowd mechanics, fully dynamic environments, creating diversions, leading the police into shadows then taking them down there, etc. I expected a...

System wide Equalizer software / Alternative to SRS?

Hello, Is there a program that will act as an Equalizer for all of my sound? I used to use SRS Audio Sandbox for this, but as many users know the program has a compatibility issue with Vista/7 which results in sound locking up after a few hours or so of playback. (Which sucks, because it...

    3 Monitors on 1 4000 series card?

For what it's worth - it's indeed impossible (Adapter which I foolishly bought before knowing this just arrived and I tested it). Oh well, cheap+used PCIe graphics card is on its way.

EVGA Bans Discussion of PhysX Mod

If CPUs are so powerful then why does using PhysX in CPU mode lag games like Mirror's Edge to a 5 fps crawl when breaking a window? Or is it that PhysX is just horribly unoptimized for CPU usage?

EVGA Bans Discussion of PhysX Mod

The issue at hand here is that Nvidia should not be allowed to dictate how we use their hardware. We want their cards solely for PhysX. They should be glad we're buying nvidia cards just for that purpose, instead of not buying any at all. It seems like Nvidia wants to enforce a monopoly on us...

EVGA breaks all 3DMark world records: 4 way GTX480

That only boosts the CPU score which, in this case, is actually dragging the total score down. Usually you compare just the GPU scores. Either way, this is a hall of fame / toplist score, which means that PhysX has to be disabled.

EVGA breaks all 3DMark world records: 4 way GTX480

Well, as we can see, the majority of the PC gaming industry is only recently moving from their 8800's and whatnot to the more recent cards, according to the Steam hardware survey. Only a small fraction of the PC gaming collective is using the most powerful cards (5970/480), and an even tinier...

EVGA breaks all 3DMark world records: 4 way GTX480

I'm surprised EVGA finds the extra cards to fry like this but fails to deliver them to regular consumers. Either way, this topic title is a bit more fitting imo.

EVGA breaks all 3DMark world records: 4 way GTX480

Not sure if you guys have heard about this already, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Setup: - Motherboard: EVGA SR-2 Super Record 7 way PCIe Dual LGA1366 - Processors: 2x Intel Xeon X5680 (6 cores - best CPU as of now) - Memory: Corsair Dominator 2x 8GB (per CPU) Dual Channel...

    3 Monitors on 1 4000 series card?

Sapphire HD 4890, has a DisplayPort, an HDMI and a DVI output. Damn, that blows. Guess I will need to saw open my motherboard's PCIe ports after all.

    3 Monitors on 1 4000 series card?

But, the card has 3 digital outputs. Also, I meant flashing the card using the exact same BIOS as it was using already but changing the model number to something else, or similar.

    3 Monitors on 1 4000 series card?

Assuming I have a DisplayPort, HDMI and DVI monitor, and one of each connector on my 4890, is there any way to use all 3 simultaneously? I read something about the 4000's only being able to use two. Is it possible to flash the bios / modify the driver's registry to bypass this, since the 5000...

    liquid metal destroys h50

To be honest it sounds pretty awful. Gigantic heatsink, explosion hazard, side fins prevent RAM from being inserted, temperatures not that much of an improvement? I'd rather stick with the (relatively) "safe" water cooling, which outperforms the liquid metal when done properly (several hundred...

    Push or Pull? D5 Vario

    Push or Pull? D5 Vario

When using a D5 Vario or variant (such as a MCP655), should you have the pump be pushing water through the loop (directly after the reservoir), or pulling water through the loop (directly before the reservoir). Reason I'm asking is because I read elsewhere that the D5 pulls better than it...
