It will most likely require a touch more voltage to the memory and perhaps the cpu (to stabilise the increased load on the internal memory controller).
It's nothing tricky, and certainly won't go beyond the voltage specs of the motherboard, RAM and CPU.
Keeping to strictly under £400, and mainly for running VMs, I'd be tempted to go for the older x58 platform i7.
You'll get 8 threads (4 cores + HT), and the scope for far more RAM (and as you'll know, RAM is the most important commodity for running multiple VMs!).
The i7 950 is on offer...
I can.
I regularly pull over 6MB/s out of a 50Mb connection, so see no reason why a 100Mb connection won't pull 12MB/s.
The overheads of TCP aren't exactly huge.
I'll need both unfortunately. The PWR runs the phones for the CCME config on my 2651XM, and I'll need to get in some L3 switching, as currently I have none.
I can, but it's huge!

You can either attempt to restore a backup/windows original using the procedure detailed here, or you can format and start again.
Pretty sure that the Ageia PPU is now pretty much defunct. The PCI interface limits the throughput compared to modern CUDA based PPU operations on current-gen nVidia GPUs, and I'm pretty certain that nVidia also stopped supporting the standalone product in driver updates.
Try using JoyToKey. It allows you to emulate a keyboard and mouse with a joypad :)

It would appear that you can upgrade the flash in a 1700 series desktop chassis.

No, they offer far less initial turn-in or "bite", and the feedback through the wheel is pretty soft compared to a harder/stiffer sidewall.
Whilst they are far from bad, I didn't rate F1 GSD3s at all.
My Cisco lab equipment is reaching a pretty decent stage now, where I've got enough kit to comfortably set up a "mock" enterprise environment. I was looking at getting myself a small (up to around 10-12u) rack (or building one) so that I can set it all up permanently (with space to expand it)...
