    Outdoor Car Covers - Opinions

You might not identify it as scratches, but unless the car is properly clean before you put it on (or you have self healing PPF I suppose), there's no way it won't have caused some swirling.

Jaguar XE - Over-hyped or just me?

The X250 was a great car, I had two XFRs and loved them. JLR haven't offered anything better than the 3.0 S/C V6 in the X260 though, so it's been almost 3 years since you could spec an XF with a V8, the 5.0 N/A option was replaced with a the V6 a couple of years earlier still.

    No they don't.

Inherent devaluation following a non fault collision

Diminution seems to have got much harder to claim for in recent years, it used to just be the case that any accident could be considered to affect the value, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I tried to put in a claim after my XFR was rear ended and had various parts replaced...

How Much Do You Pay For Main Dealer Servicing?

It's obviously variable using a specialist, but so is using main dealers in my experience, there are good and bad of both. The specialist I use for my Z4M have a nice building, a fleet of almost new Minis for courtesy cars and are staffed by experienced guys who seem to know the cars inside out...

How Much Do You Pay For Main Dealer Servicing?

The labour rate with Stratstone BMW in Leeds or Harrogate is £168 an hour (inc VAT), total rip off for what you get. It's tempting to use my BMW specialist for everything, but the labour is a relatively small part of the servicing cost, and you can supply your own consumables so the extra to...

Auto to Manual license No claims

If you say. Not in my experience, after the first couple of times I've never had an issue switching between them, no matter how long it's been or how much time I've spent driving the other. My first experiences of autos were being given Audi A6 autos as courtesy cars when my A6 manual was in...

Auto to Manual license No claims

As I said before, I'm not saying anything other than you're wrong about the pedal widths, if you have examples which are different then feel free to show them. I have no problem switching between auto & manual, you'd have to be pretty slow if it's an issue keeping your leg still for more than...

Auto to Manual license No claims

Really? Not a single manual car I've driven has had a wide brake pedal. Here are some Jaguar pedal covers, auto & manual, this matches my experience of auto & manual across all brands up and down the range, with few exceptions.

Auto to Manual license No claims

Calm down dear, I just picked up on a statement which seemed incorrect, I'm not saying anything more than it isn't a normal width brake pedal that you'd find on a manual. Some automatic cars do have a normal sized pedal (e.g. my F10 M5), but the norm is double width like the XE has.

Right, I've only driven an XE once, but I'm 99% sure it had a wide brake pedal, google image search agrees too :p

What Jag? I can't remember being in one which didn't have a wide brake pedal.

Don't worry though, there are options! I've seen people paying £16k to have a specialist rebuild the engine instead

Thinking of buying an F10 M5 - Talk to me

You can put the warranty on any car with the right history, it gets massively more expensive once the car hits 60k though. One other issue that you could find is that the warranty cover limit is the price you paid for the car, so the cheaper cars are now at a point where fixing the car could...

    insurance renewal non-fault claim disclosure

Totally normal, I had two non-fault incidents early last year, my car stationary both times, one time unattended. On one car the policy more than doubled, the other is around 50% more than it would have been without the accidents declared. In total this is around a £650/year increase in my...

    BMW Warranty

Try giving them a call. I'm not sure what the reason is, but when I extended it on my M5, the price over the phone was 30-40% cheaper than the website was giving me depending on excess level.

Had a little bump.. Will my insurance hammer me?

Yes, and when insuring a car you'll be asked for details of any incidents, not just any claims you've made. You'll generally get the same loading on your premiums whether you claimed or not, as you're still more of a risk. Not declaring the incident to the insurer would be fraud.

Had a little bump.. Will my insurance hammer me?

Yep, it's ridiculous, but a lot of companies will load for totally non-fault incidents. Early last year my car was hit twice in the space of a month, first time parked in a car park, second I was stationary in traffic. As a result of these incidents, the insurance on my Z4M was just over double...
