Using as5 will probably have better performance than the stock paste so if you have some you might as well use it.

The intake fan might be a little clogged up so you could try opening it up and giving it a clean.

The BenQ G2420HDBL monitor is getting talked about a lot here. I'm tempted by it myself.

I'd say go for a 5850 over the 5870. Also, why do you have 2 cpu coolers?

Should be little markings on the end of the connector.

Everything there looks to be compatible. Your PSU should be more than capable of xfire as well.

Maybe try updating the drivers for the mouse in device manager?

Have you tried using the latest drivers yet? For your monitor as well as the gpu.

I'd pick an ati card over nvidia for the gpu. Maybe a 5770. Or, since you're probably looking at around £100 for a mobo and not £150, spend a bit more on the gpu and get a 5850, if you need the extra gpu power.

Could be a driver issue. Can you give us some more details about the monitor. Brand/Model, size etc. Edit: And system specs.
