Would this change be sensible? The only reason I want to get rid of the 300mm is because the focus is so soft, AF is slow and I can't take any more purple borders around my subjects. Does anyone who did this move or used/have both lenses, can verify that these problems will be solved with...

i have a 75-300mm USM but 650GBP is a lot. i need it shipped to Malta and apart from that, i don't really want to spend money on it as i have more important things so spend on. (license, car, insurance, fuel...........)

i don't have 2:12 because its an i5 not i7. what if i can't get 4GHz stable and can only get about 3.8-3.9? i owuld have to either stay at 1500mhz or 1900. i prefer 1900 :)

yes, but with my ram, its either 1800mhz or 1400mhz. i can't get 1800mhz with mine (for 4ghz cpu)
