Upgrading 4090 to 5090 - minimising upgrade cost.

Go ahead and sell the 4090, and then only to come to regret it when Nvidia decide to be an absolute clown and release the 5090 at £2200-£2500 (and then the 2nd hand value of 4090 increases with the new 4090 EOL and out of stock)

Upgrading Nvidia Gefore 1080 Ti Option

Unfortunately it was inevitable with how Nvidia branded and sold what's essentially 4050 and 4050ti as 4060 and 4060ti... :o

Good second hand upgrade from Radeon HD 7800

My previous system back in few years ago was still a i5-2500K overlocked to 4.6GHz and it was bottlenecking even my Vega64 (around same performance as GTX1080) at 1080p in number of games with minimum frame rate dropping to around 35-40fps range (which GPU usage was nowhere near 100%). If OP's...

GPU Prices Suck. This Is What They SHOULD Have Cost

You forgetting this graphic card pricing this gen is inflated... People paying 4070, 4070ti and 4080 prices getting cards that are essentially 4060, 4060ti and 4070 accordingly to spec

    Kaapstad?

There's the difference of paying Titan price for Titan VS paying Titan price for xx90 :p We have now reach the state of everyone is paying for the "Titan price premium" across the board, as it is not longer the case of only the top card command a price premium, but the pricing of cards below it...

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

Has RTX Changed The Way We Game?

In many examples I've seen the implementation of it in games are exaggerated to point of unrealistic level. The wet floor or puddle in real-life DO NOT reflect objects to clarity of a brand new/clean mirror level. It reminds of of the excessive PhysX effects in the Batman games

4090 vs 7900xtx re-test, who has aged like fine wine?

There is ONE scenario- the performance tanking into oblivion when the vram runs out. There were situations where the modded 3070 16GB was getting like doubled the frame rate of the 3070 8GB at 1440p and 4K

4090 vs 7900xtx re-test, who has aged like fine wine?

Driver aside, I think part of the reason is that Nvidia ALWAYS being more stingy on the vram on their cards (except the top card) at similar or slightly higher price point than AMD's offering, hence why they always tends to age worse over time (3070 8GB is a good example of this). Nvidia...

RMA Offering of B-Grade cards seems wrong

I guess the problem with the top-end is that the shortage in stock would always make the RMA turnaround time take longer, unlike the mainstream/mid to high range cards that are likely to be easier to offer replacement options

My airflow - 3070ti Founders Ed

If the case has 3 intake fans at the front that's should be more than enough, however having a fan at the top as exhaust could be counter-productive and would probably make the cooling for the graphic card *worse* than without. This is because the way your graphic card cooler works is it would...

    Arraghhh which card

I would argue you not really out of the loop as you think...you already know exactly where this gen cards stands as it is. If RT is an issue, there's really no solution except for getting at least a 4080ti or 4090 even as you said... ...or just stay put and try your best to ignore the upgrade...

Upgrading Nvidia Gefore 1080 Ti Option

Nvidia deliberately inserting a price inflated 16GB version of 4060ti and the 4070 there to stop that from happening :D If not for Nvidia's greed inflated the pricing of the cards this gen hugely, the 4070ti (a 4060ti in reality) at £450 is at where the price it should be, as it is actuality a...

My airflow - 3070ti Founders Ed

Unless your case also have the components upside down like OP's PC here, then it is an apple to orange comparison. Can't really see the front intake from the photo, but the upside down layout of this type of PC typically the graphic card all the way up top would be starve of cool air (as more...

My airflow - 3070ti Founders Ed

The direction of the 3070 cooler will be blowing the heat down toward the CPU cooler, so it might actually works better to turn the ceiling fan around as intake (and may be move it to the middle or front) and bring more cool air direction toward the 3070, as the case exhaust would be behind the...

Upgrading Nvidia Gefore 1080 Ti Option

The 4060ti is just a bit behind the 2080ti in performance, so coming from the 1080ti it would be a reasonable step-up.
