    The Tesla Thread

Have you made sure the hinge area of the mirror is clean? Dirt and grit can get lodged in there (especially this time of year) and cause some issues with that.

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

That's interesting. For me the AW3423DW worked in much the same way on my AMD GPU and my Nvidia GPU in terms of the G-SYNC module and its functionality, but could potentially depend on the exact GPU and drivers used. I assume you've tried the usual things like clean-installing new graphics...

    NVIDIA 4000 Series

You have the Dell Alienware AW3821DW, do you not? As with other relatively recent G-SYNC monitors, you can access the full functionality of the G-SYNC module via Adaptive-Sync (DP) on an AMD GPU. So you're not restricted to Nvidia GPUs because of your monitor. :)

Some of the fears in this thread regarding PSU requirements could be unfounded, according to this article - https://www.overclock3d.net/news/power_supply/fact_check_-_will_nvidia_s_rtx_4090_will_be_compatible_with_existing_psus/1.

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

I noticed this when I was reviewing the monitor. Didn't have any Dell or Alienware applications installed, but there was an update available on Windows update. I haven't seen this for any monitor before, as far as I can remember.

Monitor has 'speckled snowy affect' on it

Are these 'speckled snowy' artifacts moving, or static? Do they appear for all shades or really only brighter shades? If you're very used to glossy screens or matte surfaces with smooth finishes, could you simply be observing graininess from the screen surface?

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

This is explained in the calibration section of the written review. Well worth reading the written review as well as just watching the video - a lot more technical detail there. It is primarily because I like to explore the full capabilities of the monitor with the native gamut, whilst...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

There's a touch-sensitive area in front of the bar (beneath the Alienware logo). It should turn on with your selected colour if you touch that area.

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Nice review - glad you're enjoying it so much! I may be misremembering, but did you used to host some UltraWide wallpapers? I seem to recall you had a collection of them a while back and I've been using some in my wallpaper cycle. Also, I was trying to hunt them down in your profile and came...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

For normal SDR viewing "reference mode" should only make a difference to pure black or indeed other shades if somebody accidentally changed any of the sliders on that page. Otherwise it will look identical to the default state: Brightness: 50% Contrast: 50% Gamma: +1.00 Digital vibrance: +50%...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

Manufacturer profiles may include generic gamut mapping data derived from the full native gamut of the display. If you're using that profile on colour-aware (ICC aware) applications and also using the monitor with its sRGB setting, you will see 'double correction' and significant...

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

@Nexus18 Keep your monitor porn and positive thoughts to yourself. Lugerfield has already declared this product "absolutely trash" with his vast experience and provided his balanced, untainted view. Anybody enjoying this trash is obviously high on the Alienware Kool-Aid. ;)

World first QD-OLED monitor from Dell and Samsung (34 inch Ultrawide 175hz)

That's correct. 10-bit is always used for HDR10 content and if that can't be supported monitor-side due to bandwidth (e.g. AW3423DW @175Hz), the GPU fills in the gaps very effectively with dithering. I've tested this on a range of monitors I've reviewed, including carefully observing fine...

    Tesla Model Y

Indeed. If you look through some of the threads filled with comments from actual owners (example), most are very happy with the car. There are some comments along the lines of the firm ride, but most people there seem to find it perfectly fine even so.

When are you going fully electric?

Agree with the rest of your post. Curious about this bit though. The Model Y Performance is due Mid-2022 vs. early 2022 for the Long Range. As it's the highest margin version, would that not usually prioritised? I speculated this may be coming from Berlin rather than Shanghai. Though I suppose...

When are you going fully electric?

The Long Range has an 'Early 2022' and Performance 'Mid-2022' estimate. I suspect the Long Range will be coming out of the Gigafactory Shanghai and Performance out of Gigafactory Berlin. Could be wrong of course, but I suspect this is the reason for the timing difference there and possibly the...

    The Tesla Thread

The EV segment is currently a small portion of a very large market. Demand is growing all the time for any electric vehicle. Tesla doesn't have a demand problem and until they do advertising makes no sense. The Model Y is a very family-oriented vehicle which is planned to be produced in very...

    The Tesla Thread

Tesla doesn't pay for advertising and they won't pay influencers. No need to when people genuinely enjoy the products and will rave about them anyway. As a Tesla driver myself I'm constantly amazed at the excitement about my car from the younger generations. Sometimes to the annoyance of their...
