The Zone of Interest
Only vaguely knew what it was about beforehand - I found the execution effective - sometimes surprisingly so. There were moments when I just felt sick to my stomach with the everyday moments happening right next to such atrocities, and the sound design was genius. Virtually...
Finished it last week. I was biased against The Brotherhood since I don't really like them in the games, but the arc for Maximus did not help things one bit. I found his character very unlikeable, the attempts to make him a bit of a bumbling comic relief character at times kind of fell flat, and...
I'm a fairly big fan of Fallout. Played 3, NV and 4. I'm on episode 3 so far, and it's...OK. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something feels a little off. I don't know if it's how clean the world feels or something, but I'm not feeling an overwhelming sense of excitement about it at all...
Binged it all in one day. I thought it was really good, and the look of the Parasytes were spot on. The movement was a bit uncanny in a handful of shots, but it was really cool seeing that little part of my childhood (that sounds really weird up when you think about the gore) in this way. I hope...
I kind of didn't have anything jump out at me when I read the title, but as soon as I saw that picture, I remembered the Fury Road bike scene. Literally one of the best action scenes period, let alone best within the car chase category. The music is amazing.
Oh wow. I read the manga back when I was like 13/14, and was surprised it got a sudden anime adaptation a few years back. I'm shocked again that it's getting a live action adaptation, but I've always liked the story, so will definitely check this out.
-edit- Oh, it's not a straight live action...
Letterboxd. Used it for years and it's fantastic. Does exactly what you want - logs the day you watched a film (or re-watched), you can give everything you log a rating on a 5-star scale, you can write a written review, I think you can have your own personal notes for any given movie.
They've...
Semi related, but every time I go round to a someone's house or a hotel and they have motion smoothing or whatever that particular manufacturer calls it enabled on the TV...:mad::mad: Like, how do people watch a movie where random scenes look "smooth"?
Nothing carries over from Remake. Only if you have a save file from the main game do you get the Ramuh summon, and if you have a save game for the Yuffie DLC, you get the Leviathan summon. Otherwise all gear and levels do not carry over.
FFVII Rebirth.
FFVII is one of my favourite games. Rebirth, the gameplay is padded out with a lot of minigames, some of which become quite tedious. 100% My own personal opinion, but there's one character's story moment that I was highly looking forward to that was flubbed compared to the...
But he's already 2/3 of the way through his original vision. He's said he always wanted to tackle it as a trilogy, and has as much as written the screenplay for Messiah already even though it's not even greenlit. Leaving the final film to someone else will just throw off the overall cohesion of...
I just finished that myself yesterday. As mentioned above, that's my favourite part of the original and I was really looking forward to it. I was kinda disappointed to be honest.
Akira Toriyama :( I don't think anyone has more of an impact on my interests and ultimately me as a person than he had. I used to be obsessed with DBZ as a kid, and to a lesser extent Dr. Slump, and I'd re-watch the VHS tapes we had religiously. Chrono Trigger is also one of my favourite games...
Regarding 30fps vs 60fps, you absolutely do get used to it, and I say this as a vehement PC gamer with a 144hz monitor who normally doesn't bother with consoles since PCs do everything they can do but better (exclusives aside).
30fps was horrible at first, but after about 20-30mins, I...
Just beat chapter 8. I am finding it's sometimes padded out with tedious minigames (Segways anyone?), but overall I'm enjoying it. The increase in fidelity across the board (graphics, music) does definitely help with the more emotional parts. God help me when I get even further. Red XIII was...
Somehow I got it in one today. It was a bit of a guess, but even though it was a very generic image, the colour grading more than anything clued me in.
