Im willing to bet theres a big clump of dust under the cooler blocking the ventilation. I had a couple 480s with that problem. Started to throttle and nothing i could do about the rising temps. You'll need to take the cooler off to get at it and clean it.

I'll just add in that the 6700xt that I'm running here can run HL Alyx on high with the ReverbG2 at full res and it runs perfect. Even better then my 5700xt ran the game on the Rift S. It's not the most demanding game though - Racing sims in VR are a lot more. For highest settings on demanding...

You're grand with the 6800. I wish I had one, but I got an overpriced 6700xt a few months ago.

Just get a g2 and be done with this compression rubbish. The quest 2 on PC was just an after thought so imo it's better to get something that was designed for PC from the start. Plus the image quality is way sharper.

I feel like the new cards are just around the corner and they are probably going to make a 3080ti or something like that seem like bad value pretty soon. I'd just get a stop gapper or something mid range to use until we see how fast the new cards are and how much they sell for then sell it.

No it was amazon actually. It was a little bit cheaper as it was being shipped from amazon US so i figured I'll wait a little bit to get a good price. And it was the model i wanted (merc 319 6800xt). Disappointed when i opened the box but at least they wrapped up the brick all nicely for me...
