Im very glad to read that the Australlian team are fixing this.
Massive kudos to them and also congratulations on a great port.
Now if only we could get those 2 extra chapters on PC!! Can you guys in the Australlian team not bend a few arms.... and legs?!!?
Is 3.8 the sort of speeds that are doable for everyday running of an i7 920?
I have mine at 3.0 Ghz only.
i7 920 Do (Noctua sink/fan), 6Gb 1866mhz Corsair dominator and a EX58-UD5
Thanks!
Metro 2033 is soo pretty though :-) It does run well dont get me wrong just not completely smoothed maxed out. Its fine if you turn off AA.
@mrix: Is there any software i can use to test temps while playing?
Yeah BFBC2 is soo good, looks like you've been putting in quite a bit of time...
Hey guys
I posted the first unboxing pics but must admit i've been to busy trying out ALL my games with the 480 to do any benchmarks!!
Thoughts so far:
Coming from a GTX 275 (8800 for physx) the 480 is DEFINITELY a worthwhile purchase. Just to clarify i use 1920x1080, vsync ON in all...
Sorry i have to go to work now its come
I will be back later with some benchies etc! Expect Crysis, Just cause 2, GTA IV, Metro 2033, Dirt 2 and stalker CoP!
Good old City Link :-)
Note in the UK you have to select US drivers to get the 197.41 or else the search (on nvidia this is with win7 64bit) returns no results. meh
Couple of pics!
Edit: ha, full res pics show i need to do some dusting!!
Bloody city link
"your parcel will be delivered between 7:30 :D - and 5:30 :eek::mad:
Thats specific isnt it haha
Will update this post with pics soon as!
I disagree
Both Physx and CUDA certainly have there place. Batman with Physx and Just Cause 2 (gorgeous!) with CUDAfor example.
I'm not saying its the be all and end all of course and there isnt many titles out yet but i don't think they should be dismissed out of hand.
If only we...
Agreed. Im fully aware of the downsides but i say never let money make the decision as you'll always regret it.
Featurewise i want a 480 so noise and all thats what im gonna end up with!
On those settings (Enthusiast and 8xAA) id be delighted with those, no idea how it compares to others though but its a lot better than a GTX 275 i can tell you that!
Well play Crysis at a 1680x1050 on high settings at 2.4 Ghz then again at 3.2 Ghz and you'll see a world of difference with that same graphics card.
It depends on the game of course but CPU's can and do hold back GPU's
