Okay thank you. The flashing indicators to say thanks and tipping petrol station attendents etc. is that something you need to do? Or is it just polite? Presumably the hire car will have insurance and be road worthy though, if it's from a reputable company?

Going over the summer, and planning to hire a car. Anything I should know? Different rules etc. I know they drive on the left like us but that's about it... Cheers. edit, p.s. don't tell me about crime I know about that, more concerned with rules of the road, what traffic cops there are like etc.

I let my dad drive my car, and I'd let my mum drive probably, but she wouldn't want to. I'd also let my gf drive if she was insured and she let me give her a little demo/training session first :p

I don't know how he bought the car, but if he bought the car outright with savings, then pays for the running costs on his income that would explain why he would not be able to surely? (I don't know if he did this just speculating pointlessly...)

possibly, I can't say, since I'm only 18. although my taste in cars has changed a lot in the last few years alone. but there's always going to be a few people who have the money and inclination to do up brand new expensive cars
