    Cooler Master MasterCase MC600P

Hi everyone. I have the opportunity to grab a second hand Cooler Master MasterCase MC600P for 50€. It has a few minor dents, but seems to be in overall good shape. Do you guys think it's a good buy? Thanks

    A beginners first build...

just to clarify things on my part: all those advises where fine, it's just that FSX is not just another gpu limited game. all the best luke

    A beginners first build...

FSX is not just another game. It's incredibly CPU bound. it struggles to get past 10-20 fps in airports like heathrow with a lot of traffic. that's where an intel cpu and it's faster core speed helps (even a 15-20% difference is going to help a lot) a 955 @ 3.4 is going to perform A LOT worse...

Oh no! sorry to say but that's a horrible choice for fsx :( It saddens me I didn't find this thread on time

Is an AMD X6 overkill for these games?

luke, did you get the I3 in the end? does it run FSX as expected?

    I3 L3 cache

sorry, should have mentioned it's FSX what we're talking about here. It's heavily CPU bound

    I3 L3 cache

I could live with a 10 - 15% performance loss, especially if a higher OC can make up for the cache loss a bit (I think an I5 tops at 4GHz and an I3 at 4.3 4.4) now 50%... that's a whole different story lol thanks. very much appreciated

    I3 L3 cache

I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand what you mean. 2 cores 4MB vs 4 cores 8MB... isn't it 2MB of cache available per core in both cases anyway? anf if we're talking about a game not optimized to run on more than two cores, how much can I expect it to affect? thanks for your help

    I3 L3 cache

How does the low 4MB L3 cache (compared to the 8MB of an I5 750) of an I3 affect it's performance, especially while gaming please? I can see in single core benchmarks like cinebench that the difference is minimal clock for clock.

    i3 530 Overclocking.

what would be the best mobo to overclock an I3 530 as much as possible please? would it be just as effective with a I5 750? I don't care about USB3.0 or Sata6, just OC thanks in advance

quick question for you I5 owners. will an I5 750 overclock nicely in this board? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-233-GI it seems to be a great mobo for I3 OC. is that valid for I5 too? thanks :)
