    Smart Lighting solutions

Not too keen on the Hue bulbs as they seem to be about £20 each. When I have 12 downlighter in my kitchen it soon adds up and I still have the problem of wall switches etc to buy as well. You're also quite limited on smart devices I think. I've decided to go for the Fibaro dimmers in the end...

    Smart Lighting solutions

I'm currently in the process of building a kitchen extension and rewiring my ground floor. As part of this having lots of different lighting circuits such as cabinet lights, wall lights, pendants etc. and rather than having umpteen dimmers to set I was looking into having a smart lighting system...

Spec me a country lane commuter

Hi Guys, Just moved house and now my commute is a 30 mile round trip of country lanes. At the moment i’m driving an 2001 Jeep Cherokee 4.0l which is a beautiful car but is killing me on fuel with its 18MPG. Looking for something around £6k with a decent amount of space, fairly efficient on fuel...

    Spec me a massive car

Hi everyone. At the moment I drive an Audi Q7 which I got earlier this year after we found we were having twins. It's perfect, me and this missus up front, the twins in the middle row and a dog guard in the boot with a split, half for the double pram and half for the dog (rescue staffie x...

    Audi owners in here!

Just wondering, has anyone had their fuel tank leak after overfilling it? I properly brimmed my 2009 Q7 right to the top and parked up for a couple of hours straight afterwards. When I came back there was a nice pool of diesel in the parking space under it. I spoke to my mechanic and he says...

What car(s) for 3 child seats in the back?

We just upgraded from a 3 series touring to a 2009 Q7, really love the car and although we only have 2 car seats in the back there is room for a third one or large adult in the middle. The best thing about it compared to others is that it has a third row in the boot which are also ISOFIX so you...

    Cracks in BMW Alloys

Well unless I want to replace the fronts as well and have a car with aftermarket alloys which will make it difficult to sell then I have no choice. And I live in the countryside so potholes are unavoidable.

    Cracks in BMW Alloys

So frustrating! About a year ago I took my 2007 BMW 330i touring in for MOT and found that both rear wheels had cracked. Got them both welded and put back on. 6 months later one of them had cracked again, so replaced it with a refurbished, never repaired BMW MV3 alloy. 3 months later...

Using a property company to rent out flat

I'm pretty sure that it's not worthwhile to do this. HMRC is really cracking down on properties owned by companies. Showboat - If you want to pass property onto kids without inheritance tax the best thing is to set up a Trust for them and have the properties owned by it.

Picked up a future classic - Jeep Cherokee XJ

Yes true the TJ is a classic but hard to live with as a daily - struggles at more than 50mph and can't make the most of being topless in UK weather.

Picked up a future classic - Jeep Cherokee XJ

Yep, hugely popular and the consensus is that the 4.0 is bullet proof and if things go wrong the parts are dirt cheap.

Any interior designers or someone with a eye for design on here ?

It's very much up to personal preference. I would only advise getting an interior designer if you have a lot of money to spend. The best advise I could give is to spend a few evenings on http://www.houzz.co.uk/ and Pintrest and find something you like and copy the **** out of it!

Picked up a future classic - Jeep Cherokee XJ

Mainly for commuting to work - I work in the Yorkshire Dales so often have snow or flooding to deal with. Also used for carting junk around and the odd Pay & Play.

Picked up a future classic - Jeep Cherokee XJ

Sold my 2009 Jeep wrangler last week and bough this 2001 Jeep Cherokee today :D First thoughts are I absolutely love it. Always has a soft spot for the XJ Cherokees and since deciding to sell the Wrangler to put towards a Q7 for the family an XJ seem the perfect commuter/weekend toy. Specs...

Towel radiators - Electric vs plumbed

We have a few of the Kudox ones from Wickes http://www.wickes.co.uk/Kudox-Electric-Towel-Radiator-500-x-1100mm-Flat-Chrome/p/137755 . They are great value for what you get. Couple them to a timed fused spur like a Timeguard FST24 and you're in business.

Sony Xperia m4 - not fit for purpose!

It's a mid range phone by a respected make sold on the high street. I'm not expecting flagship performance but I expect to be able to install a few basic apps and keep the phone updated.

Sony Xperia m4 - not fit for purpose!

So last month I decided to upgrade from my iPhone 5. I have had iPhones since the 3G. I decided on the Sony m4 aqua as the price was good, the form factor was nice and the reviews were good and I liked that it was waterproof. All was good for a few weeks. However now I am realising that...
