well the A02 revision says support for new cpu's, but doesnt list what cpus it supports! typical dell! if it doesnt work will just build another computer from the pentium d. like i said its just for internet nothing special. my secial rig is in my sig :D

it says pentium or celeron.. so technicaly a pentium D should work? swear i saw one listed on ebay with a pentium D i migt just buy one and see what happens

its just a little internet workhorse, but its running windows xp, was gonna stick windows 7 on there IF i could get a pentium d in there.. its 775 not 478. i might just try it and see what happens.

Anyone know what cpu's will go in this to replace the ageing p4 ht thats in there? i was thinking of a pentium D, but dell does not list it as being compatible, but dell being dell it probably would work but they dont want you to know that.. cheers

theres only one pcie x16 slot on this motherboard the rest wont physicaly fit a x16 card in beacuse there only x1.. its ok i fixed it myself anyway, it was something to do with the io level up. it was disabled, so i enabled it, windows found a pcie controller plus sata 6.0 and usb 3.0...

ok just been poking around in gpuz and aparently my graphics card is running in x1 mode, also cpuz wont show up my ram timings atall. mobo is a p7p55d-e lx, graphics card xfx 5850. help please.

i have been running it maxed out in ati overdrive, with no problems. i have tried 830/1210and that seemed ok. i wouldnt worry about messing your card up, xfx actually dont mind overclocking so you would be fine to get it swapped under warranty. one thing i did was take the cooler off, changed...

if i was you, i would get a motherboard with heatsinks on the vrms, as the Phenom II X4 955 Black Editions draw 125w without oc, so overclocking it is going to be putting a huge load on the vrms. i suggest this board...

scythe mugen 2.. allways used it with standard fan and never had a problem, really quiet when controlled by mobo pwm, low temps.. only downside its HUGE.
