Hi everyone,
I'm seriously considering the above combination for my next build, but I'm just not sure from the pictures if it would fit without having to remove the existing 120mm fan on the adjacent cutout.
Any idea?
Thanks!
I figures that - the side-to-side ones just don't fit. I was considering the H90, though, as the Lian-Li case does have a 140mm opening on the top close enough to the CPU, if I'm getting its design correctly.
The R4 is indeed very clean-looking. That could work.
It's hard to beat the desktop advantage arrangement-wise, as it would realy cut down on the footprint in my case (there's a slot in the hi-fi rack just asking to be filled by a PC).
The Fortress 2 was my original plan, but I wanted to build the system on a certain weekend and the only locally available option was the Raven.
This time I'd really like to stick with the desktop format to make it blend in.
The Lian Li PC-C60 is the leading option right now.
Thanks for your input.
I thought I'd be able to keep the OC by moving to something like one of those Corsair closed-loop watercoolers.
Is the problem with SLI one of cooling or space with the Grandia cases? Because this one looks plenty big for one of the bottom-up (as opposed to side-by-side)...
Hi,
I'm currently using a Raven 2 in the living room, but I must admit the aesthetics are getting to me, as it simply doesn't match its surroundings.
I'd like to replace it with an HTPC/desktop case, but without sacrificing that much in terms of cooling performance.
The system that will...
Yes, everything is up to date. I manage to lock Furmark now, so I'll investigate this a bit more.
I guess I just feel that I should never be able to run this rig with this case + CPU combination, as it's clearly geared to something else, but maybe I'm wrong.
Thanks.
Arethenon, I like the Antec (very quiet). It's just that I'm having some random issues with the system when gaming (video locks up every now and then - displays a single colour, some graphic artifacts right before) and I felt it might be caused by the PSU. Video cards @ stock speed, BTW.
It...
Hi everyone,
First of all, sorry if this isn't the right section for my question.
I've had my current system for about one year and I get the eventual visual artifact and lock-up when gaming. This has led me to think that my case and PSU might really be holding the rest of my system back...
jkulas, I'm impressed that I don't see anyone else mentioning this. The issue is glaringly obvious to me and is enough to make me think that I should have sold my first 5770 and gone with a single-card setup instead of adding the second one.
I'll try Rivatuner tonight, Biz, and report back.
bigjimmy, you may be right, but I'm pretty sure a single 5770 would get more than 60fps in the least demanding games I mentioned.
bigjimmy, isn't the "too many FPSs" issue what V-Sync should take care of? It seems like V-Sync is not working properly when Crossfire is on. The PSU should be fine (it's a 700W Cooler Master Silent Pro).
I've reseated the cards a few times, and tried changing the bridges around as well as...
Hey everyone,
I'm running a pair of Sapphire 5770s (the regular ones, not Vapor-X), at stock speed.
I get this weird visual artifact of tearing about 1/3 of the way down from the screen. It looks very similar to having V-Sync off, as it's as if the upper 1/3 of the screen is slightly out...
I'm running an i7 920 @4.0GHz with a Noctua NH-U12P S2 (or something like that) and the noise level is maddening. This is because my case is the worst one I could have picked for this build, as I was looking for silence (don't ask...).
It's an Antec Sonata Elite. No fans pulling in, only a...
Sorry for the flood: I just got the error with the memory running @1200 with very conservative timings (9-9-9-28).
I'll try each module next.
I don't think I ever enabled the XMP profile in the BIOS. Would that matter?
Thanks!
Alright, it happened again with three sticks. I'll experiment further.
Should I lower the speed? These are 1600MHz sticks. If I have to run them lower than that for it to clear memtest, what would that mean?
Thanks.
Higadeb, care to elaborate? I'm not sure I follow what that means (corrupting the programming of the RAM). I also don't remember doing anything unusual, and I've setup Crossfire systems before.
Thanks.
P.S.: I cannot even get the error to repeat with 3 sticks. This was the first and only time...
