    AMD or Intel?

I'm going to buy a new CPU, although I've been told I should replace the mainboard, ram and install an AMD CPU. I currently have an i7. I want to upgrade because my CPU is five years old now and needs an upgrade, I just think it's not worth spending hundreds of £ when an i9 does the job too...

    100% usage cpu

I have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz. Not sure if that is good or not. I play GTA V. although I struggle to reach 30fps, it is unplayable. my CPU is also at 100% usage. I have a good GPU, Geforce RTX 3060, just wondering what I can do to improve performance and reduce CPU usage? Thanks.

But when I use my RAM in the optimal positions, slot 1 and slot 3, my pc does not boot up and the CPU or DRAM lights come up on the ez debug. However if I use my RAM in slots 1 and 2, my pc works fine. It...

    Selling 4790k on eBay advice

I've sold an i7 4790k on eBay for about £90. The buyer has a had an account since 2013 but only has 8 feedback and that's all "more than one year ago". A bit more poking shows they last bought on eBay "over 5 years" ago. They've given their address to what looks like a housing development in...

Just bought a 5800x, I have the latest bios, and all components are 100% working good. When I use 1 ram stick in the first dimma2 slot it works fine or if I use 2 sticks ( 1 in the first dimma 1 and 1 in the first dimma 2 ) it also works. However I want to use both dimma 2 slots for best...

    Ideal cooler for R7 5800X (3D rendering)

I've been using Keyshot 10 for rendering and I've noticed the CPU reaches high temps (85+ C)and begins to thermal throttle to around 4.4 GHz. Usually it boosts to around 4.8 in tasks that don't utilise all cores. I'm using a Noctua NH-U14S, it handled rendering fine on my last chip (I5 4670K)...

    Stressful Stress Test

I did a prime95 stress test on my new PC and was a bit alarmed by how hot it got and how fast. I have a Ryzen 5800x CPU and Arctic Liquid Freezer II cooler (both brand new), but managed to reach 91c within 10 minutes (at which point I aborted the test). Tried the test again about 20 minutes...

    Override or Override with Offset

Hi guys, I see most overclockers use override CPU voltage with a negative offset. I've Ryzen 5 3600 with MSI B450 Tomahawk Max and could set the Vcore to 1.175V in "Mode 1" and 4125Mhz frequency with stable daily home usage (games and etc). I could not get stable with a negative offset with even...

    CPU always at 99% usage

Hi I have a ryzen 7 1800x and I overclocked it using the bios to 4ghz. It always runs this speed now and my cpu is always at 99% usage no matter what I do.
