trainers

Hi, Trainers question I recently bought a pair of new trainers as my current ones are starting to become end of life. I notice, there is a cut on the circled area. I cant decide if i should just keep it or return. I am not a shoe expert but last thing i want the area sucking up water.

I have fairly average length but very wide flat feet. Trying to find a brand of trainer that not only looks good but is wide enough I dont tear holes through the side would be nice. I've tried on pretty much every trainer at sports direct and they're all so stiff and narrow I can barely get my...
