I'm confused, it's nearly 2017 and I have decided I might want to go the route of gaming laptops. The tech has come a long way and reflects favourably compared to it's desktop counterpart with the exception of the screens.
G-Sync, 120Hz all exist but are in short supply; the year 2012 still seems to be in fashion and 1080p is still the default despite including powerful graphics cards like GTX 1070s inside. You can upgrade from 1080p but then the next step seems to be 4K which is a ludicrous resolution for either a gaming laptop or a laptop in general when you're talking 15-17" of screen area.
I was expecting to see 1440p panels in all the top rigs, how comes almost no one is shipping 2k panels in laptops well over £1500 in price. Surely you guys (the enthusiasts buying these laptops) aren't happy with 1080p in 2016?
My regular Dell laptop is 1080p and the res is acceptable, but I paid £500 for that. Once you're paying over £1k I'd considering a 1080p panel very poor value.
Confused by the lack of high res screens...
