Hi guys Im after some 140mm case fans to fit a white and black build, white Rgb would be nice, good airflow and low noise. Any recommendations?
I use ML140s too, silent under 400rpm and quiet under 1000rpm, noisier above that, but for case fans very unlikely need setting any higher. Max RPM is loud but also faster RPM than many they get compared to. Even at 400 rpm 2 x 140ML in high air flow case keep front of case noticeably cold to the touch. Due to no bearings I do feel they're extremely quiet at 400rpm, though most other fans are basically silent too at that that RPM unless you get really close and can hear bearing grinding noise or vibration that you don't get with rubber mounted MLs.
Do these plug into the 5V connectors on the motherboard (unlike the Corsair LL fans which need their proprietary controller)?
The standard ML and ML leds are just 4 pin fan connectors, the ML RGBs also use a fan RGB controller that comes with a double or triple pack I think like the LLs. Neither LED or RGB versions as efficient as the non light version but not much in it, I have blue LED ones to keep cabling to a minimum.
