Hello I have two computers, one connected to internet. What is the cheapest method of getting the otherone wirelessly online? It is only in the next room but don't want wires. could I just get two USB bluetooth things? thanks
you could get 2 wi-fi cards (not bluetooth) and create an ad-hoc network. of course that means the pc with the internet connection always has to be switched on.
Yeh the one connected to the internet always will be on I looked at a certain cheap site, and they're selling Bluetooth adaptors for ~ £7, and say you can network to laptops, so i assume this would work with desktops. Any advantages to wi fi over BT for just two computers?
bluetooth is not meant for sharing internet connections. it won't work and even if it did, it would make dialup look fast.
What is the cheapest way to do this then? What products would you reccommend? Also, how much would it be for a wireless ADSL modem/router thing? Thanks
although you can mention popular auction sites when talking about stuff in threads, it's not advisable to link to any computer related items as per the anti-competitor rules in the faq....
shouldn't you have made it disappear? . As said an ad-hoc connection using two adapters would do the job.
