Some cracking laps there, Montoya's will likely get overlooked despite being in the first 5 out. Button's was gorgeously smooth which bodes well for race pace. Kimi, as stated above - WOW, serious commitment and really putting a marker down, bit of a shame then that Alonso quite spectacularly called him on it.

Not really sure what Raikkonen is up to - he's either that fast with fuel on, or he's running a normal fuel load and will be trying to zip through the field and pit at the normal time.

Montoya's lap was something special - considering he was out that early and no-one really knew what the track was like.

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing but we thought he'd just gone with a normal fuel load last week and look what happened. The McLaren's been quick all weekend so I wouldn't be surprised if he's fuelled up, maybe not as much as last week but 4 laps at least more.

The FIA has revealed that the appeals lodged by the ASS on behalf of Sauber Petronas, by the DMSB on behalf of Panasonic Toyota Racing, by the FFSA on behalf of Renault F1 Team, by the MSA on behalf of British American Racing GP Ltd, McLaren Racing Ltd, Red Bull Racing, and Williams GP Engineering Ltd against the decision made by the World Motor Sport Council on June 29, 2005, on Wednesday, September 28, 2005.

This date has been chosen following the requests made by a number of the appellants to hold the hearing at a date that would also permit the International Court of Appeal to rule on the possible appeals which may be lodged by the ASNs on behalf of their licence-holders against the decision of the World Motor Sport Council at its meeting due to be held on September 14, 2005. As a result, the ICA could rule on the appeals in their totality.

Richards' 'no' to Max's job

David Richards has ruled himself out of contention as Max Mosley's possible FIA successor.

The former BAR boss, owner of the Prodrive company, rejected media reports suggesting he is the secret name behind teams' plan to replace the current president.

'That is one of the most undesirable jobs in motorsport,' he told Reuters at Silverstone, on his first visit to the F1 Paddock this year.

'I can't imagine anyone wanting to (do) it.'

F1, though, is on Richards' radar, as he hinted that he could see Prodrive on the Formula One grid 'in the future.'
